“Very disappointing”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I would like for a restaurant to succeed in this location, but this one will likely be a failure in a series of failures. Service is slow, the place is under construction, the vinyl-clad booths are showing their age. The rum and coke was flat, not just the first time, but after letting them know and then having them allegedly fix it. The cosmopolitan martini was barely pink pure vodka. We had the crab cake appetizer and it was flavored with some spice that made it taste like an oatmeal raisin cookie. Chicken marsala was decent. Salads were unremarkable. Price was too high for the cuisine and ambience. Will not be going back, sadly.

“No ambiance, poor service, portion controlled...”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Upon walking into the stale smelling vestibule, we were promptly greeted by an unwelcoming hostess who did her very best to convince two adults and three children to squeeze into a booth suited for four in an overly lit, enclosed porch overlooking the pond. After refusing, we were brought to a spacious table at the front of the house, which was almost completely in the dark, where our entertainment for the evening was watching bar patrons and staff through the picture window chain smoke. A member of the kitchen staff later came to out to change lightbulbs in a wall sconce, and not at our request. I do believe the only other diners in the front room were having a hard time in the dark, as they were seated against a wall in the shadows. The bar was adjacent to the dining room and the entire space dated and lacking ambiance. Our server, although nice, didn't have a clue. Drinks and food were brought out randomly and in no particular order or urgency. My drink was brought out last, after several reminders. The complimentary bread was fresh and bruschetta tasty although delivered late and very heavy on the use of onion. Chicken noodle soup and clam chowder were ordered instead of salad and both were yummy. Two of the children ordered chicken tenders and fries and they were exactly as we expected, although carefully portion controlled. I opted for the veal parmesan, sauce on the side, which was a very good move, as it was sour and tasted as though it came from a supermarket jar. The veal was overcooked and very dry. My wife and son ordered the grilled salmon, sauce also on the side. The fish was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes and fresh, mixed squash which was the vegetable of the day. The scale in the kitchen must have been broken as all portions were ridiculously small and inconsistent. We waited well over an hour for our meals to be delivered and it was not a busy night, with only a few other diners in the entire restaurant. We were not offered dessert or refills on our drinks and were simply presented with a check.

“Not a fan”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Waited twenty minutes after being seated before a waitress came by...another ten minutes bread arrived without even a glass of water delivered...had to get up and look for some assistance...bartender ignored me standing there...finally found a different waitress who listened to the saga and promised to help claiming they were short staffed...six of us dining and one meal arrived cold with another wrong...chewy chicken...was offered a free dessert in an effort to compensate...no plan to return here any time soon.

“Very Good Food, but we were "encouraged" to leave”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Several days ago I went to Abruzzo's with friends. From the moment we arrived, we felt a bit rushed. We repeatedly stated that we were in no hurry. This was a social event. The restaurant was not full, so it was not that we were preventing others from being seated. We were strongly "encouraged" to place our order, pay the check and depart.
Our meals were all very good and presented in an attractive manner, but our experience was less than perfect because of the feeling of being pushed.
