“Dive!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Stopped off on last friday with a party of six. There were no tables set up for eating. There was a packed drinking crowd. tables were pushed against a back wall. Think twice about going here.

“More than I expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Had heard stories that this place was no more than a local watering hole. But went there looking for pub food and good screens to watch college bowl games and was pleasantly surprised. The space is not terribly large and divided somewhat evenly between a bar space and dining area space. There were plenty of screens focused on football, college hockey and basketball including one large wide screen and several smaller flat screens. The patrons appeared to be locals getting out of work and of course somehow seemed to know each other. What truly pleasantly surprised me was the quality of their food. A hot open roast beef sandwich although most well than rare but juicy and good. A simple chicken breast sandwich with melted mozarella that was nothing to write home about but tasted fresh and the mozarella melted oh so nice. This is the type of place you go to to watch sports, and eat pub food (and I guess if you know them chat with the locals). The patrons seemed to be middle aged and older but the noise level was good (not too loud not dead if you will). Overall a nice find and definately better on the inside than appearances on the outside.

“Diamond in the rough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012

When you dine at J P Greers you are squeezed into one side of a working mans tavern. Obviously a favorite watering hole of the locals one would think they would make more $$ just by operating as a bar. However, you are greeted by a friendly waitress promptly as you arrive and see a specials board offering several different choices and a decent menu with something for everyone. Prices are very reasonable, portions are huge and the food is delicious/ Try the steak tips, they will rival or surpass those at any other restaurant in the area

“Good value pub food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2011

I give this restaurant "very good" based on what it is, and not compared to anything else. We had tried this restaurant a few years ago and were not satisfied enough to return. With a discount coupon in hand we decided to try it again. Forget about the coupon... we had good food at excellent prices. The coupon was just a bonus. Service was very good and quite accommodating regarding substitutions. Portions are large. Atmosphere is zero, but it is just a neighborhood pub.
