“A Reliable Place to Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

We have never had a bad experience at Hampton Inn. The rooms are nice and we love the breakfast served each morning. We had an ocean view, but it was past the parking lot.

The room we stayed in had a neat little feature...a table that you could use as a desk, roll out and use to dine on, or use it near your bed for an extra nightstand.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hampton Inn 3 times over the past 5 years and we have always been happy with our stay. This year we did run into a few minor, but annoying problems. Our room, as always was clean and features very good bedding, a wardrobe, and a small desk.

However in the bathroom when the light was on it sounded as if someone was running the water above the room. We reported this immediately to the desk, but the issue was not addressed during our three night stay. Also, the light next to the bed seemed to be out. We reported this to the desk, but when we returned to the room late in the afternoon the problem has been fixed. I did speak to one of the house keepers when we returned and she obtained a bulb for the light. When we discovered it wasn't the bulb, she knew right away that someone had pulled the plug behind the bed and she took care of the problem. The ice machine on the second floor did not seem to be working on the second and third nights of our stay..

The Inn is located off of 195 and is easy to get to, but to get back onto 195 is a bit tricky. All you have to do however is go to the desk and they have printed directions on how to get to 195. The Inn is very convenient to Fall River and Battleship Cove, Horse Neck Beach and the ferries to Martha's Vineyard. Breakfast is very good with many selections of cereal, muffins, waffles, etc. It can get a little crowded at times if the hotel is full, but the staff makes every effort to clean tables and move things along.

The exercise room has brand new equipment, with two treadmills, a stationary bike and an eliptical trainer. The cardio machines have small built in fan that gives you a little breeze as you work out. A very nice feature. They have also included a rack of free weights and exercise
balls. Towels are also provided.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have addressed your issues with maintenance. Our staff works very hard all year long, however summer months I sometimes think they need roller skates to keep up with the demand of a full hotel. The staff and I work very hard to try and make every guest feel like they are at home. We are very happy you were able to enjoy some of the amenities our hotel has to offer, and hope to see you back for a 4th visit very soon!

We stayed here for a wedding being held locally, and our room was much nicer than I'd anticipated. Good size, flatscreen TV, nice bedding, and very clean. Quiet at night, as well (thankfully). A very friendly welcome upon arrival, and I was really impressed by the quality and magnitude of the free breakfast, which was continually monitored and replenished. Very nice. I'd stay here again.

I was here for 3 weeks on a business trip. I was highly satisfied with the quality of the rooms, the service, the gym, the complimentary breakfast, and the Monday reception with appetizers and wine. I would say this is a great place for your business to put people for extended periods. The staff was very friendly and many took the time to get to know us and our group. Fresh fruit, cookies, and unlimited coffee were provided in the lobby daily. My only minor complaint is that their light fixtures were not always Lightolier fixtures, and that bothers me, because if you're a hotel that cares about quality of light, you should be designing with Lightolier's commercial grade downlights and the rest of their product portfolio.

I almost always stay at a Hampton Inn when traveling. They are a great value and overall very good. This one was in a perfect location for us and had several good reviews.

The lobby was clean, open and inviting and the breakfast area was very nice. The staff were helpful and efficient. Parking was free and continental breakfast was included.

The room was a bit disappointing. It was clean but oddly set up. The bathroom was large enough for a disabled person and had all of the gadgets and special appliances for that use. However the rest of the room was set up strangely. When you first walked in the room there was a long hallway and to your left was the bathroom. Going straight brought you into the bed area but at the end of the hallway was the TV console and refrigerator. There was barely enough space for us to pass. A wheel chair would never get through that space. I got the sense that they moved the entire thing to cover up a stain or something. The balance of the wall the TV was on went on to the window with nothing but a picture.

On the other end of the room next to the window was a desk and beside that a large cabinet containing the ironing board etc. This was situated so close to the night stand that one side of the door would not fully open. Again oddly set up.

None of that really mattered. It was just not appealing to the eye etc. The bed, however was another story. The coverlet had burn holes in it and visible dirt. It had not been laundered. The mattress was very soft and tipped down severely when sat on. Way too soft for us. We awoke the following day very sore.

Lots of travelers so breakfast was mobbed. They ran out of things by the time we got down there after 9. Still,we ate and what we had was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room, if available.

Clean, fresh smelling rooms with a really comfy bed. The pool and hot tub and the outdoor patio area were clean and well maintained. Breakfast had several healthful choices. Most memorable were the friendly staff we encountered. From check in with Shawn to the breakfast staff, and even our housekeepers were all friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: noise from the highway did not get to our room on the second floor

We stayed three days the second weekend of June with family to attend functions at Fall River and UMass Dartmouth. The hotel is central to the area and makes it easy to get to most places in the south coast area. White's restaurant and bar is across the street with a good meal.

Our room was clean and comfortable and even though we could see the freeway we didn't hear much noise. The staff was friendly and always asked if we needed anything.

Breakfast was good with a variety of items, fruits, cereals, muffins etc. The hot dish was different each day with some type of eggs with sausage, bacon etc. along with waffles. Patty was the lady taking care of the breakfast area and she did a great job keeping things stocked, cleaned and refilled. She would even help with bringing your waffle if your hands were full.

The only thing we found to be a bit annoying was the closet size and location. We are not sure if all rooms were like ours but the closet was tucked into the corner and the rod was positioned in an in-out rather than across position. That made it hard to see what was hanging up because all you see is the first item.

There are not a lot of hotels around Fall River and the Hampton Inn is your best bet when in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our hotel. We appreciate your comments!

Our hotel went through a total renovation a few years back and at that time, the closets were Hilton approved designs.

The staff and I take pride in our work and we are very happy to hear that the rooms were to your liking, and the variety of breakfast was pleasing.

We hope you have a great summer, and that we will see you again very soon!
