This is a great place for a quick visit (certainly not a day activity, but you could spend about a 1/2 hour here). There is a tiny gift shop, a small indoor exhibit and a small outdoor (enclosed) exhibit. Like many others on this site, we went because we got a 1/2 off discount. I don't know if I would go again at full price, but it's definitely a relaxing beautiful setting for both kids and adults. They even do weddings there and they had photos of some they had done. Cute!

good for kids and an unusual place to visit on a rainy day

I have come to this atrium at least 4 times already. There is nothing like walking into a room full of free flying butterflies to make you feel the wonder life has to offer. Staff is very knowledgeable. In addition to butterflies you can see larvae, small birds, and a koi pond. Hatch your own butterfly with one of their caterpillars, offered in the gift shop!

This experience combines a solid learning experience in the education center with a calming, meditative experience in the observation area. After bringing my grandkids through the exhibits and watching the video we entered an area teeming with hundreds of beautiful butterflies, plants, and a fish pond stocked with colorful koi. Music filled the air as butterflies soared from flower to flower and often landed on us. I stopped walking and found a bench. Once seated, butterflies began to land on us and the adventure was on. I felt like I was in the movie Avator. I want to go back, without the kids and just drink in the peace and beauty.
