Many years ago my husband and I used to stay at the Tidewater every time we stayed on the Cape, we wanted to visit and stay in other areas of the cape so we had not been there for quite sometime. This weekend we returned for two nights. I am happy to report we were not disappointed. The Tidewater can always be counted on to give you an absolute clean and comfortable place to stay. The accommodations are not fancy but certainly adequate. We did not get a chance to use the pool this time but it certainly looked inviting. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. There is also a breakfast restaurant on the premises that provides a basic breakfast nothing special but certainly worth a try. This hotel is great for families, couples or just a group. it is conveniently located near the shops and restaurants in Hyannis and is not far from the Cape Cod Mall. If you are looking for an inexpensive clean place to stay in the cape the Tidewater is the place for you.

We got a good deal with Living Social to spend three days two nights here for $99.00! So for the price, it met our needs. We love travelling on the Cape and found it easy-peasy to get to Hyannis on Saturday and Chatham on Sunday. the "Inn" is a typical Cape motel, and could use an upgrade furnishings-wise. But the staff was helpful and eager to please, the pool was large and inviting, the parking is at the door! Room felt safe and was neat & clean. Bathroom was serviceable. This is not luxury...but for the price, a comfortable way to spend a weekend on Cape Cod.

Room Tip: A room in the main building means you don't have to go outside to get to the pool.

We went for a girls weekend. The owners were very nice, rooms clean, bed comfortable. The only suggestion I would have is to some how redirect the geese, they are cute but very messy. We stayed in the building that has a view of the river, which is pretty and wanted to walk down to the water, but it was a mine field. It looks like they have picnic tables and chairs that would be nice, if not so many geese and mess. Also carpet in the hallways need replacing, also open the pool earlier and stay open later.

Room Tip: The far building facing the river.

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. We love the geese, but hate the droppings. They just returned for the fall and all efforts to get rid of them humanely have failed. Our guests enjoy feeding them so they don't want to leave. We're are trying to solve the problem. As for the carpet in the hallway, most of the stains, which we've tried to remove, happened this summer and we can't change the carpet during the peak season. Good news is that we have ordered new carpet and it should be installed withing the next few weeks. Hope to see you again for your girlfriend getaway and, hopefully, you'll have a more positive experience.

Tidewater is a motel type place conveniently situated near fashionable Hyannis Port, with easy access to Cape Cod and Plimouth Plantation, Boston etc. Spacious room with two large comfortable beds and all amenities. Friendly restaurant for a generous good value breakfast. Helpful staff and check in. Pleasant outlook from the rooms towards the sea.

Girlfriend and I had been looking for a decent priced hotel/inn and cape cod and got this one through Groupon.
Upon entering we were greeted by a very friendly personnel, whom was very helpful and informative
When entering our room, which had a sliding door and balcony, we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and size, and enjoyed our stay in the room throughout.
The TIdewater was located a 5 minute drive from Main St, which was the best street of all other things going on in Yarmouth, after hanging out in other towns, we would come by the room relax, and head out to main st.
The price we got through Groupon for 2 night stay was a really great price, so can't say anything about the normal rates.
The only thing that I wish, was that this was an actual inn, like I picture one to be, with an inn keeper and all, and breakfast in a house-inn and I did not enjoy Yarmouth town to much comparability to other parts of the cape, but it might be because people knew Hurricane Sandy was on her way in the next few days.
Overall our stay was great, nothing to complain about. Will probably be staying in a different town in cape cod altogether next time.

We found this place by accident, having struggled to find anything suitable on the strip from Hyannis.

The chap at reception was dealing very patiently with another awkward client and whilst we were waiting we were pleased to notice that it was Trip Advisor rated. Reception was excellent - comprehensive and friendly.

Large, comfortable rooms, albeit with a very traditional feel. Ours overlooked the lake and we could park directly outside. Small TV. Free wifi in room. Good-sized pool available in season.

There is a good diner on site for breakfast - basic, cheap but adequate.

The price is reasonable and there are lots of rooms availabe.

Stayed here for 3 days & 2 nights and it was worth the price I paid through Groupon. Its centralized location on the Cape, makes it easy to get from one end to the other. Being located on route 28 can be a head-ache during peak season, but during the off season, it makes good sense too be located here if you are planning a couple of days of site seeing. Upon arrival, check in went quickly and smoothly and the staff was friendly and helpful with any & all questions. The rooms were adequate and clean, but I found the mattress to be to hard for my liking. The bathroom is small, but kept neat and clean. There is a nice sitting area out back for lounging and reading, as long as the geese and seagulls stay away. A good tip is to not feed the geese, no matter how friendly or cute they seem. I would stay here again, as long as I come during the off season and get the deal again.

The picnic area is great but you are right about the geese. They are so friendly that everyone wants to feed them. Unfortunately, they realize what a easy life they have at the Tidewater with people feeding them that they decide to stay. The only downside is their droppings...We gently try to encourage them to leave.
