“Wannabe That Isn't”

This pub is nothing more than a trash sports bar trying to become an upscale restaurant. It failed. Your first hurdle will be getting by the clueless hostess who thought our request for "first available" meant an "outside table," which turn over far less frequently than inside tables. As a result, we watched a dozen couples get seated before us when we decided to ask. Clueless!

After that setback, this restaurant had nothing more to help it rally to a win. The view for example is nothing more than Highway 28 complete with noise. Patrons are asked to wait for their table in the parking lot. Thank heavens it wasn't raining. The wait staff are rushed to turn over tables so we were served our meal in thirty minutes flat. That alone is cause enough for indigestion and the food doesn't help. The fare served at this restaurant is no better than the food at your local 99 or Red Lobster except three times more expensive.

Pass this pub by and look for something else. I would rather stay home and eat cardboard than return to Captain Parker's Pub in So. Yarmouth, MA. At least at home I won't be kept waiting for an hour.

“Except for the chowda, just average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Had salad and grilled shrimp, nothing special about it. Could have added cranberries to my salad for $2.50 more!?! Was expecting more for the #4 ranked restaurant...sat outside, right by the highway and Parker River...not that scenic.

“good food and great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

My daughter and I ate at this restaurant after getting a recommendation from a local. Very casual atmosphere. Had a 45 minute wait. Our food was delicious and we had wonderful service. I recommend the swordfish and mashed potatoes and my daughter loved the mussels and pasta. generous portions.

“Over priced, over hyped, over it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Based on the reviews, we made this a must. I'm sad.

Our wait was over 40 minutes, which we were prepared for. We were not prepared for grilled cheese to be the most expensive item on the kid menu. We were not expecting to get the most bang from our meal in our cocktails.

Our server was super personable, but totally missed two items we ordered. Overall, meh.
