“Terrific Meal”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We ventured over to Captain Parker's Pub tonight and the service and meal were very good. We enjoyed clam chowder, portugese soup, grilled shrimp and blackened swordfish. All of it was very well prepared and tasted delicious. I will definitely be coming back the next time I am in the area.

My one negative comment was that a magician was going table to table promoting a show he was doing at the high school. I found it very disruptive to hear him shouting at guests all through out the dinner.

“Just a quick trip in...”

We were there at 4pm since we did not have lunch that day. I like their food generally...stuffed mushrooms were watery but the clam chowder was delicious as always. People were coming in for dinner already!

“Lunch”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Had a bite to eat before we checked into our motel. Food is very good and so is service. We had grilled cheese with ham, and tomato and we enjoyed it. Came with bag of chips.

“Reliable Yarmouth Restaurant”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

By the long, long lines and many, many cars parked in the lot, you know that this place is well known and well reputed. Its good reputation is well deserved, as the food and atmosphere are excellent. After having a drink at the well stocked and busy bar while we endured the long wait, we ordered various fish and seafood dishes, all of which were prepared quite well. (Indeed, having been there several times, it seems that the fish and seafood dishes are far superior to anything else on the menu.) The award winning chowder lived up to its billing. The wait staff was very friendly, knowledgable and attentive. The prices are not inexpensive, but neither are they anything near outrageous. There is a new outdoor dining area, which appeared to fill up quickly. This is one of the better places in the area.

“What you are looking for on vacation.”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

This place is much larger that it appears from the road. It has a large dining room and outdoor patio area. You can also order off the full menu at either the indoor or outdoor bars.
The crowds can be very large by 6:00 PM but they have plenty of servers and seem to turn
the tables quickly.
My wife and I had dinner early (6:00 PM) on a Tuesday night. We waited about 10 minutes and dined inside. Outside would have been a 30 minute wait.
My wife had the turkey dinner off the daily specials menu. It actually was the last one available even though it was early. It was very good served with broccoli, stuffing and mashed potatoes and was only $11.99.
I ordered the large cut prime rib, medium rare at $25.99 It was more medium than rare and a little tough although flavorful. It was also enormous and I think worth the price.
Overall the prices seem a little high for some of the items on the menu. A cup (not bowl) of chowder which they are famous for was $6.50.
The menu is large and you will find something for everyone. The owner Gery Manning is also always there.
