Description: The roots to this Cape Cod landmark trace their origins back to the old country and follow a route through Canada before settling in along Route 28. The Yarmouth House Restaurant was founded in 1978 by the Kounadis family patriarch, Gerry Kounadis. Born in Kefalonia, Greece, Gerry immigrated to Canada with his lovely wife, Vasiliki, in 1951. There, he operated a very successful diner in Montreal for over 35 years. His dream was to expand and open another restaurant in the United States. In 1978 he founded The Yarmouth House and he knew he had found a diamond in the rough. He brought with him his three children to help run the restaurant. With hard work and dedication, the restaurant became one of Cape Cod’s favorites, as it remains today. In August 2006, Gerry Kounadis passed away, but his presence is still felt every day in the restaurant. He left behind memories of his great sense of humor, positive attitude, accommodating demeanor and his famous welcoming smile. Today, his son Chris runs the kitchen along with other very talented chefs like Gary Sprague and Amir Ahari. The dining room is run by his son-in-law, Ted Zambelis, and his daughter Angie, who try hard to keep up the family’s goal of remaining a restaurant with the finest food at reasonable prices in an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The family owns and operates DiParma Italian Table on Route 28 in W. Yarmouth as well as our newest location, DiParma Italian Table, Seekonk, MAWe want to take this opportunity to thank all our patrons, especially the many supportive Cape Cod residents who have kept us in business for over 31 years.Thank you and God Bless

“Great place for New Year's Eve Gala! Fantastic food, nice band, festive/fun (not rowdy) crowd... Great Fun!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Loved this place for a great New Year's Eve experience. Mixed crowd of guests (30's-70'+s) all in the mood for fun. Menu has outstanding choices that were wonderful. Our waitress was terrific! She paced our evening meal slowly frequently checking in to see if we'd like our next course - worked perfectly for us. The "drinks for 2" are strong & festive - complete with floating fruit & flames! Thank you bartender! The band was great and played all night with just a brief break, but DJ style music was played so we could keep dancing - until 2am.Thank you to the tax drivers too (the Hampton Inn shuttle stops at 12:45-on New Year's eve). If I had to find a flaw, I guess the $80pp cost is a bit steep, but we budgeted for it & splurged on ourselves. We had a great night dining, dancing, & having fun... we will absolutely be back again!

“No Need to Run To or Run Away”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

The good stuff, atmosphere. The bad stuff, condescending service, hard stale bread pricey average food. I don't see the raves for this restaurant. It was average at best and expensive, look elsewhere for your dinner out they are out there.

“Dessert Was The Best”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Our service was nice and efficient, though did not seem to have much of a personality. The food was good, and the drinks were strong. The atmosphere was lovely, realizing and tastefully decorated, but the only thing memorable was the desserts.
My husband and I shared the Ice Cream Mudslide, which was delicious, and we took home the Chocolate Mousse cake, which was beyond amazing.
We are on vacation, but honestly, the only thing I will miss about this restaurant is that Mousse cake.

“Thanksgiving day!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Very crowded place considering that not a lot of restaurants were open on Thanksgiving day. We called to make a reservation 2 hrs before and the guy on the phone (who is in a lot of the photos in the restaurant) said, no problem, to come in and so we did. Very accommodating, beautifully decorated, clean restrooms, nice staff. Great food and service, will be back!!!

“Good food with generous helpings”

The prime rib was delicious with a great baked potato. The ala carte menu does push the price but everything is tasty and the portions large.
