Checked in yesterday, we're currently here relaxing after our wedding and are thoroughly enjoying our stay. The room is wonderful, with a porch overlooking the lovely gardens. The town is within walking distance, with a local tavern, cafes and other eateries. Short distance to Lenox, Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

Shaker Mill Inn is a great place for families to stay when visiting the Berkshires. It is in a great location, convenient to all including Tanglewood. The Rockwell Room we stayed in was spacious enough for our family of four. It was very clean, comfortable and private. It had everything you need, 2 TVs, DVD, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and sink. My only complaint about the sleeping area is the window above the sliding door and skylight next to the bed let so much moring light in that my 4 year old kept waking up at 5:30am and the room was so bright that we couldn't fall back asleep. Some shades there would be a nice addition. The breakfast was also a let down. It was basically frozen baked goods and a tart. There was milk and some so-so orange juice. My kids didn't like any of it and I wasn't too crazy about it myself. Some cold cereals, instant oatmeal or yogurt, fruit and a fresh bread basket along with milk and juices would be a very welcome addition. Also, the coffee packet they provided was horrible and there was a problem with the coffee maker. If they would get a K-Cup coffe maker in the room for coffee and tea it would be fantastic! Since they provide spoons, forks, plates, etc. I would suggest telling Bob you won't be having the breakfast and either bring your own or just plan on eating out. With that being said, it's a very good value for the area and certainly worth a stay.

Finding a bed and breakfast in the Berkshires that allows young children is no easy feat. Coming across the Shaker Mill Inn was a wonderful find. We are a family of four, with two girls age 5 and 9. It was so pleasant being entering the room to classical music and wine. And all of the snacks were great for us. We had the chance to experience two rooms in our weeklong stay, The Rockwell and the Catamount room. Both easily fit a family of four. The Rockwell room was great because there is a bit of separation, and we even utilized the screen in the room after they went to sleep while we watched tv. The Catamount room is spacious as well, and we were able to bring in the rollaway bed and still have plenty of floor space. The outdoor grassy lawn had so many things to play with including hula hoops, balls and even a pogo stick! The weather was so beautiful so we enjoyed the outdoors and the girls could run around and play while we relaxed in the many adirondack chairs. Although the orange juice and milk was refreshed every day, I would have liked fresh fruit, yogurts, maybe homemade granola, etc. which we brought in ourselves in the fridge in the room which was great to have, as well as the microwave and coffee pot. the baked goods and quiche are nice from the caterer they utilized. We would definitly return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at The Shaker Mill Inn. There was everything we could possibly need provided in our room; great attention to detail. The bottles of wine were much appreciated and made us feel truly spoilt. There was an interesting selection of yummy food left in the fridge for our breakfast. So nice to have fresh milk and juice. So - lovely accommodation in nice surroundings with welcoming hosts, what more could you want? The Hancock Shaker village is close by and makes a very interesting visit. Stockbridge is charming and there is the Norman Rockwell gallery to see.

Great, comfortable place with every possible contingency thought of. There was food, including a great quiche/tart for the evening and pastries for the morning, with orange juice in the fridge, TV, an iPod dock, great reading lights (and on dimmers--so overlooked as a feature in hotels) --even an umbrella in case of rain, which it did.
A wonderfully comfy stay!

My husband and I stayed in The Clark Room at The Shaker Mill Inn for a few days before visiting our son at camp and we couldn't have been happier that we did. Mary and Bob were so warm and welcoming, our room was beautifully prepared everyday and looking forward to the daily assortment of breakfast treats was fun, not to mention delicious! Through little touches such as welcoming notes, wine, books, a cd player, (and even a deck of cards) they created an atmosphere of peace and privacy that we greatly appreciated. While we were there we traveled around the Berkshires a bit and found their location perfect for us. We can't wait to go back!

really enjoyed our stay at this inn, we were very impressed on arrival, our room was just perfect and huge, It was spotlessly clean and the bed was sooo comfortable, also Bob and Mary seem to have put so much thought into their guests needs, real home away from home. The best lit bathrrom mirror I have ever found in any hotel/b&b or inn. I loved the idea of your breakfast for the following day being left in yor fridge the evening before, however for me (and this may be just me) but quiche isnt really what I crave at breakfast time. May I suggest a cold choice of cereal and maybe a basket of muffins. I have to mention the restaurant / bar at the end of the road...the food is delicious we ate there every night and each meal was as good as the last.
