Overall I was satisfied with my stay, can't give the facility a 5 rating because of a few minor issues. First, in an effort to reduce energy consumption (good idea) our room had a sensor to detect when people were in the room. A/C and heat go to an offset if no motion detected in 2 hours. So, during our stay when the weather was hot, the A/C needed to be on at night while we slept. I think a wall blocked the sensor from the bed, so I had to get up and move around in front of the sensor to get the air back on. Also, the fan would not stay running and this is a must if you are a light sleeper. This hotel is only set back maybe 100 feet from a four lane highway and is in a large shopping/commercial area. There is a lot of noise, even with Hampton's typical good job of soundproofing, you will hear noises all night. The fan running helps drown out some of these noises.

The rooms were clean, housekeeping does a good job and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast selection was typical Hampton selections, but because the hotel was so busy, the attendant had a difficult time keeping up with demand. I might suggest a second helper when the hotel is booked so full.

Room Tip: Rooms on back side are a little quieter, but parking is further away. Lots of restaurants within wal...

Just a two night stopover but staff could not have been more helpful or friendly - swift check-in and reception staff always had a ready smile, willing to assist. Free breakfast - nothing too fancy but my kids loved making their own waffles each morning. Short stroll across to shopping area and choice of restaurants (no restaurant in hotel). Decent little swimming pool (pool towels not very large though!). On-site laundry was useful for us - family of 4 travelling across New England so was nice to get a few bits and pieces laundered.

Room Tip: Had a room on the 3rd (top) floor - on the corner overlooking the shopping area - away from the main...

Stayed during six flags trip. booked with Hilton rewards points. Staff were nice, breakfast was as expected, tips go into basket instead of on your table, sofabed was not too comfy and fitted bed sheet on king was too small and not fully on and had a very long hair on mattress (and very short hair on rolled up face cloth on bathroom shelf - unexpected for Hampton Inn as we've never had cleanliness issues at other Hilton properties). ottoman was broken but we tried to put wheel back, when booked with Hilton I was told they'd put in a rollaway bed and upon checkin was told they never do this due to fire hazards (I'm a Hilton gold member so I was disappointed by being led to believe this was possible). Staying on top floor was nice because noise was limited. Did not use pool but it looked good. Overall pleasant room, just recommend using king sheets on the king and smaller sheets on the sofabed, and checking room when ready for guests to verify cleanliness. Also, it would be nice to have more pillows for the sofabed as pillows were very soft, which I really like about Hampton.

The staff at Hampton Inn is outstanding & happy to be of service! Those at the front desk greet you with a smile and are very welcoming. Not only was my room spotless, but the hotel overall is very clean thanks to great the housekeeping staff. One employee, Ivonne, in particular went above & beyond. I had lost my diamond earring somewhere in the room. I checked all over, but to no avail. I told the front desk, which informed housekeeping & Ivonne made it her mission to find my missing earring. After emptying vacuum bags & searching the contents, she found it...at last. I was notified right away. She certainly is an asset to their team. P.S. Their bedding is amazing...best night sleep!

You can for sure find cheaper accomodations in the Greater Springfield area, but probably none better. Located on a busy commercial street with loads of shopping & restaurants very close by. Also very close to I-91. We stayed in Rm 236 for 6 nights, and had absolutely no complaints, couldn't have been better. Our room overlooked the outdoor pool, which was nice, not only was it a pleasant view from the room, but we could see whether or not the pool was crowded (the most people we ever saw at/in the pool was about a dozen, and usually it was 4-6.) Whatever noise was in the pool area could not be heard in our room. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable - a king bed with a sofa that could pull out into a bed if needed. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. The free breakfast is the usual Hampton fare: make-your-own waffles, cold cereals, a crockpot of oatmeal (with dried fruit & nut add-ins available), yogurt, eggs, bacon, fruit, danish, etc. Something for everyone, and very respectable coffee! No restaurant in the hotel; recommended nearby restaurants: Cal's (across the street) and On the Border (Mexican, a 5-min drive.) There's also a Panera's within walking distance, as well as several fast food places. If you're looking for a bargain, and aren't too fussy, you can find cheaper hotels than this one - but you won't find BETTER. Worth the extra money.

Overall the hotel is typical of most Hampton Inns. This property is clean with a few rough edges that show its age. The staff is nice. The breakfast area is nice with plenty of typical food stuffs. I like that they offer fresh fruit throughout the day. The hotel also provided pizza for the guests tonight which was very nice, although it would be nice of some guests to be considerate of the fact that the food is intended for everyone so they shouldn't take 6 slices for themselves.

The internet works very well here which I need for business throughout the morning and evening hours. My only complaint is the rooms are dark because of the heavy drapes. There are no curtains to allow some daylight in while offering some privacy. The drapes are great if you sleep during the day. I enjoy having as much sunlight in my room as possible, and during the evening want to look out to see city lights and activity. I just don't want the world looking back. Closing the drapes made the room depressing. The layout of the room was also cramped. The closet / desk is a set and is against the wall next to the window opposite the bed. The desk chair can't move back because the bed is in the way and blocks access to the closet so just sitting at the desk feels like I'm wedged in.

As a frequent traveler and a Hilton Diamond Member this is not my first hotel choice in this area.

Room Tip: There is more privacy on the backside and the top floors.
