Seasoned travelers--international and continental--I read reviews carefully for context, so here is mine. First time staying here while attending the Martin Zine show in August. Very convenient to the expo center-5 minutes door to door. Two story facility with stairs only, beautiful swim pool and exercise room, IS under going construction (moved exercise room), ok breakfast--no meat if you care--very friendly owners, good price for the area, and located in a decent area. The bed was excellent, the room comfortable temperature wise. Staying here is a cross between a B&B and friends house. The staff care about you, but the hotel lacks sophistication, hence 3 stars. Broken hardware, ducktaped applicances, crappy finished projects. Vending/ice machine WERE NOT WORKING or filled with product. The building is an older building, which is fine, it just needs better maintenance (this coming from a person who has several unfinished house projects in the works). For the price and location, for one or two days it worked for us. It was comfortable--and made us laugh, which added to the traveling experience.

Room Tip: Our room was street side--traffic noise early am only. If mobility is an issue, secure a ground lev...

We booked for 3 nights and left after the first night. We "upgraded" to Red Roof Inn. The room had no security chain on the door. We found a dirty towel in the bathroom, candy wrappers and a bottle cap on the floor. The room was hot and stuffy and we could not find a thermostat or fan control anywhere, despite what the front desk told us. The neighborhood where its located is "sketchy" at best. When we checked out and told them we decided not to stay the next 2 nights, they gave us a very hard time about not charging the credit card. As we explained our concerns, the man who said he was the manager got angry and said he "did not want to talk to us." He was visibly angry with what we had to say.
We had to call the credit card company to help us with the charges for the 2 nights we did not stay. They said that they have a 30 day cancellation policy. I have never been to a hotel that you have to cancel 30 days in advance. I would stay anywhere but there in the future. There are plenty of hotels on Route 5 in West Springfield.

Room Tip: PIck another hotel

They are NOT under renovation - I stayed here in 2012 and again in 2013 - place looked absolutely the same! They're in disrepair and I cannot understand why the Springfield Housing and Hospitality Authority hasn't yanked their hotel license! Place is loaded with seedy furnishings, stained carpeting, and the manager is rude. Refused to put an outside call to my room. Said 'everybody has a cell phone now". DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Room Tip: All doors are locked except main entrance. Do Not STAY here!!!!

I have stayed there, twice in the past two weeks, The staff was top notch went far beyond their call of duty, Very clean rooms. Pool is very nice, quiet and affordable. The location is a bit weird, and you will look at it like.. Wait I walk on and see if I stay here. You may think of even walking away before going on.. Well my advise Do not let the location or look fool you.. This is the place to stay Bar none. You will not find a better place even those high end hotels can't touch this. Trust me you be glad you did!

Room Tip: if you want a bigger room ask for the J rooms

Great location just around the corner from the Big E. Came for a horse show that my daughter was participating in. Very convenient. Older building but undergoing some construction (though we didn't hear any noise related to it). The rooms were spotless and very quiet. New, large television, but spotty internet service (but that happened to us all around the area).

Nice location friendly service definitely would stay again if I'm in that area! The rooms were clean pool was nice. Hot tub was clean and big enough for two! The breakfast was basic until I had the waffles! Definitely would recommend this place and would go to this one again if I'm ever in the area! The service was excellent and friendly definitely there to help if you needed extra towels and such at any time day or night. The people there definitely try to make you feel welcome!

The Regency was alright. We stayed there while we went to Six Flags, which is only about 5 miles away. The parking is tight out in front of the motel. The lobby is inviting. There are several desktop computers available and fruit out for the taking. There is a continental breakfast available daily in the lobby starting at 7:30 until about 10:30. The breakfast offerings included: bagels, English muffins, hard-boiled eggs, waffles, and cereal. There are a few tables in the lobby and it does not take too long for those to fill up. We ended up going to the Friendly's up the road for breakfast. The first floor has a nice indoor pool. The gym equipment was a recumbent bike, elliptical, and a treadmill. One of the two snack machines was out of order. The ice machine worked. The stairs to the second floor (where our room was located) were steep and there was no elevator. Dragging our luggage up 15-20 steep stairs was not fun. The room was alright. The bathroom looked like it had recently been updated. It was a good size but the ceiling over the shower was peeling badly. The mattresses and linens were good. Wireless connections were available free. There was a microwave and fridge in the room, which was very convenient for restaurant leftovers. The room was comfortable and stayed cool. No issues with the air conditioning. It was a safe, no-hassle place to leave our stuff while we were out at attractions and a good place to sleep after our day exploring.. There is a small bookcase with some books you can borrow. The room ran about a hundred bucks a night, mostly because of it's fairly close proximity to Six Flags New England. Quiet area.

Room Tip: Request a first floor room to avoid dragging luggage up steep stairs to second floor.
