Description: Blue Ginger, located in Wellesley, brings urban dining and sophistication to the suburbs. In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, Blue Ginger expanded with a Rockwell Group-designed renovation, creating a chic, feng-shui inspired space with three distinct dining options. Enhancements include an updated main dining room in which to savor Ming's signature East-West cuisine, three private dining rooms, and the new Lounge at Blue Ginger, complete with cozy banquettes and a 10-stool granite bar. An Asian Tapas menu is served in the Lounge, featuring casual, shareable dishes like "Ming's Bings," Ming's East-West take on the burger. "Blue Ginger is unusual, not only because of the food or the room, but because it's a neighborhood restaurant of a type not found too often in the Boston area...those of us who live farther away will just have to travel now that the secret is out." --The Boston Globe *NOTE* Reservations are not accepted for The Lounge at Blue Ginger

“Upbeat Blue”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

Blue Ginger probably does not need another good review, but gratuitously here it is. In Wellesley for a meeting we decided to lunch here. It was excellent. I had the cold Vidalia onion soup which was terrific and the butterfly fish with the wasabi sauce which was very, very good. She had the drunken noodles which I tasted and both agreed it was also very good. This was a treat. There is construction going on in front, so it might be difficult to spot as you approach and parking is not always the best, but persevere and you will not be disappointed. Would we go back? Yes, next time we are in Wellesley we will.

“Should have known better.....”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

In order to celebrate a terrific outcome of a medical procedure for our one year old, we decided to take a night off from Boston Children's and head up to Ming Tsai's place in Wellesley. Mediocre food prepared with a heavy hand, not at all what we expected for the celebrity hype. Seriously- isn't the point of soft shell crab not to have to fight through the shell! Then why use a badging that duplicates the shell we have paid to avoid? OK-I get the nod to real crab but the things were like eating HARD shelled crab. Lamb and fish equally disappointing. A long way to go to look at Tsai-signed cookbooks. Pass

“So disappointing!”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

We were so looking forward to this meal, but the food and the service just didn't deliver. We had an oyster appetizer which was good - but $12 for four thumbnail-sized oysters. The pasta dish was gummy. And service was surprisingly poor (serving the main course when the appetizers weren't yet cleared, no one checking on our table throughout the main course). We had really looked forward to eating here, but the meal and service weren't at all what we expected.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

The food here is outstanding. Two of us had the lobster dish and were not
disappointed. Service very good, atmosphere nice. I always compare restaurants
to similar ones in NYC or other major gastronomical cities and this one comes
off smelling like a rose. Highly recommended.

“A Great Restaurant”

This is Ming Tsai's take on Asian fusion. His reputation speaks for itself and Blue Ginger will live up to all your expectations. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal. Highly recommend
