My niece was married there this past Labor Day weekend. The wedding was at 5:30 and everything was going fine until 10:00 when the "caretaker" (the mother of the sons who own it) told us to turn the music off mid-song and that the party in the pavilion was over. We complied and about 20 of us went over to the gazebo. We then turned the music on softly (you could barely hear it 20 yards away) and she came stomping over, physically pulled the cord out and demanded that "I told you no music anywhere!". She was quite hostile and acted in an unnecessary manner. The way she behaved was quite uncalled for. I don't understand why she rents the place out for Saturday weddings if the event has to be over and quiet by 10:00. Perhaps renting it out for a quiet Sunday wedding would be better suited.

We stayed here two nights and appreciated the fine old house in a bucolic setting, surrounded by a golf course and quiet country lanes. The pool and landscaping are lovely-- I can see how weddings and celebrations would be great here. This is not one of those B&Bs where you're fussed over-- the owner is a contractor and left for his work both mornings that we were there, so after providing breakfast (cold cereal, fruit, juice & coffee) we had the run of the place, which suited us just fine. I went for a walk and discovered that the Mass Audubon Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is right down the road, with several miles of nice trails through the woods, overlooking ponds. All in all, a nice place to stay if you are a fairly independent traveler.
