“Outstanding Gem!”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Don't go by the location of exterior. This excellent Italian restaurant has very creative and very fresh homemade food. Salmon/roasted beet special-superb, pasta-homemade and delicious. Can't wait to go back. Did not try pizza yet which looked great.

“What every town needs”
Reviewed November 27, 2013 via mobile

Ella's represents what I would love to find wherever I might be. It's a place where you can get pizza or a hamburger, foie gras or pork cheeks or pate. All of it is perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and knowledgeably served. It is a thoroughly comfortable place to dine.

“Truly Amazing Food”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I am a Big fan of Ella's & Mark's cooking.
It is thoughtful, up to date and truly a delight to eat there.
The room is a bit, blah, but once you get past that, its all a joy.
The pizza's are gourmet, the wine list is interesting and adventurous.
The short rib special entree was the best I've had ever.
Desserts are also up to the standard of the rest of the menu.

“Nice Surprise”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

As a resident of the Upper Cape Cod, we are always frustrated by the few choices we have for good restaurants. Given the fact that I am especially fond of Italian food, I can be fairly critical of Italian restaurants in general.

Friends invited us to go with them to Ella's on a Saturday night recently and since we had never been there, we were hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Upon pulling up to the Ella's, we were pleased to see that the parking lot was full of cars (usually a good sign). However, the appearance of the outside of the building is not attractive and does not give a clue to how nice the atmosphere is on the inside.

We got a good table in the dining room, was greeted by a pleasant server shortly after we were seated. So far, so good.

The menu has a great selection of appetizers, salads, and entrees. They also offer an unusual selection of wood-fired pizza, made more enticing by the fact that the oven/kitchen is open to the dining room (which I tend to like).

In summary, the service was attentive but not pushy, the food was terrific and the wine list was broad and reasonably priced. All in all, a great experience.

We will be sure to make Ella's one of our regular choices.

“Glad we came back”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

We had not been to Ella's for several years, having had great food but bad service one night. Our order had been "lost" in the kitchen and after 40 minutes there was no apology or attempt to fix the situation.

We decided to go with friends and try again... and glad we did.

Their menu is terrific for food-starved Cape Cod residents and our experience exceeded expectations. As others have written, the decor is a little dated but the table service, wine list and choice and quality of our dinners stacks up with Federal Hill in Providence or Boston's North End.

We are very lucky to have this quality of food and service at reasonable prices and I hope they continue to succeed.
