“Great food....”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

We were staying in Newton for the weekend and came across the restaurant by accident. It was quite noisy and a bit cramped, but the excellent food made up for it. The pasta is all made fresh, and was really really good, and the marinara was fabulous. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan and it was one of the best we've ever tried - you can taste the fresh charcoal roasted flavor of the quality breast. I ordered the fig and gorgonzola pizza and it was exceptional. Our waitor, Anthony, was very friendly and even gave us a tiramisu on the house. It was the best tiramisu I've ever had! I felt the bill was quite reasonable and not overly expensive, but then I am always willing to pay a bit more than usual if the quality is there, and it definitely was at Charcoal Guido's

“Snippy”
Reviewed August 2, 2014 via mobile

Despite the less than friendly waitress, no soup or pepperoni, the gnochi and pizza were outstanding.

Best I have experienced in years. Sauce was good. Would come back despite the lavking service and soup.

“Great long islands and pizza!”
Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

This place according to bartender Melissa has no garbage well drinks and made some really awesome long islands! The pizza was charcoal fired and perfect! She suggested the sausage and hot salami and it was sooooo good! Even got pizza half off during soccer game!

Guido has a family charm and a hipster vibe at the same time. The menu is both familiar and creative. Service is friendly. Worth a visit...

“Try the pizzas!”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

We had the pizza with sausage and fresh riccotta cheese, to die for. We also tried the panzanella salad with baked chick peas and the arrancini rice balls which are so delicious! Some of the best I have had.
