A 2-bedroom suite at Hyatt House worked out very well for our family of 5 during a Spring Break vacation. Instead of paying twice the price for 2 standard rooms in Boston, we had an enormous suite in Waltham with living room, full kitchen and 2 bathrooms, plus free parking, wifi, and breakfast, just a short drive from the city. Very comfortable beds - even the pull-out sofa was fine. The suite was very clean, in good repair. Breakfast wasn't exactly gourmet, but okay - more than enough to start the day - and the breakfast area is very pleasant with lots of seating. Pool is outdoor, so of course no use in cold weather. Our only complaint was a problem toilet which stopped up twice during our 3-night stay.

Stayed here March 30 & 31, 2012 for a visit to see Brandeis University with our daughter.
It was very convenient to the University and also took about 25 minutes to get into Boston.

I was skeptical after reading some reviews of this hotel, but it was more reasonably priced than Embassy Suites (Hyatt Summerfield=85/night vs. Embassy $129/nt for our dates).
Our requirements: Suite hotel in Waltham (staying with 18 yr old daughter and we wanted the kitchen and extra space) also with free breakfast, free parking, free internet and no pets.

We were pleasantly surprised- lobby was attractive, hallways were in perfect condition, room was nice – daughter found the modular sofa to be very comfortable to sleep on, and we actually had view of water (Charles River? Lake? …beyond the parking lot).

The soft furnishings were in great shape, carpet, furniture, bedding all in perfect condition. After really looking for it, we did notice that the hard furnishings were in need of renovation – but only after scrutinizing. Formica kitchen counters had some worn spots, there was a chip on the corner of one of the bathroom cabinets. Shower just ok, but clean. However the room looked attractive, not shabby. We were pleased.

Common areas all looked nice- mini mart had everything you'd probably need, work out room was fine, laundry, and business center on main floor were good, and the breakfast/reception area was quite pretty overlooking an outdoor courtyard pool area.

Breakfast choices were plentiful and though nothing "made to order", we were very happy with it- offered cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, rolls, breads, bagels, make-your-own-waffles, and scrambled eggs (with and without meat).

The front desk person said that all of the guest room bathrooms and hard furnishings will be renovated end of 2012 into 2013. She said the soft furnishings were already done- and it was evident.

We have stayed in leading hotels of the world and were bracing ourselves for a low quality experience, but this was really pleasant!

I have stayed here many times when it was Summerfield suites. It was a good reliable place. This time was different. The hotel has changed its name to Hyatt House. The place has changed ...and not for the better. Rooms are shabby, tv didn't work, no lights in the parking lot at night, and substandard breakfast. I hate cold pancakes, cold french toast. Not worthy of the Hyatt name.

Excellent property for a clean and comfortable stay. All the rooms (I was told) are similar with a spacious bathroom, bed and separate living room plus a small but full size kitchen - perfect for entertaining. Located in a corporate park area off the highway, the hotel is conveniently accessible to many of Boston's suburbs. Breakfast is okay and has a good variety of food. The coffee is particularly good. Amenities like a business room with 4 computers, high speed internet and a printer are very much appreciated. The fitness room is small but has the basic equipment. The staff is friendly and the public spaces are pleasant and convenient. For the price and accessibility, this hotel is a great value.

Visiting Waltham, MA. It was me, my wife, two kids (9 & 6) and my mom. So instead of getting multiple hotel rooms we got a 2BR Suite with sofa bed. Mom got one room, my wife and I got another room. Kids on the sofabed.

However, please note I gave 5 stars based upon my expectations. This is not a 5-star luxury resort and I did not expect that. However, it provided its function at a reasonable cost at and expected 3-star hotel.

Room Tip: 2BR suite with sofabed is good value.

Our room suited our needs perfectly. I was taking my 15 year old daughter and her best friend to a concert in Boston. Originally we were looking for 2 hotel rooms (one for the girls, one for me) to avoid any awkwardness. The only rooms we found in other hotels were smoking rooms (unacceptable). Then we stumbled onto the 2 bedroom suite. It was less expensive than renting two rooms, each kid got their own bedroom and I took the couch. We were a short ride away from the MBTA Riverside station and took the subway into Boston which put us right around the corner from the concert venue without having to deal with driving or parking the car.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the place was clean and well kept, and the breakfast was a nice bonus.
We will be taking advantage of this on our future trips to Boston.

I had a two day seminar event with catering provided by the hotel staff. The breakfast, break snacks and lunches were served on time and very tasty.

The hotel also serves a free breakfast buffet for its guests and evening socials with really good food. The rooms have a calendar with the food theme for the evening. If you want to eat at a restaurant then you will have to walk or take a short drive to some nearby places.

I did not require A/V services and brought my own projector. Hotel staff had the room setup for a training session with tables, chairs and prjector table already set up. The back of the room was lined with tables for the coffee/tea bar and continental breakfast.

The room is slept in was comfortable, clean and spacious complete with stove, fridge, microwave and cookware. I did not use any of the cooking appliances but they were clean and well maintained. The ice machine in the fridge did spit out ice very quickly. Two LCD TV's complimented the rooms.

Good price for a business event and the free WiFi was definitley a plus. Modest exercise room with 4 treadmills and 4 ellipticals. Weight bench with dumb bells.
