“Good Choice for Italian Food”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

The food has always been good at Gia's. The prices are reasonable. In the past the service may have been a little slow, but recently it has improved. People in the valley tend to be expecting fast food, in every restaurant...try going to Providence, Boston, New York or Chicago...you can't get in and out in an hour...anywhere. Be patient...talk to each other.

“Chicken Parma-chewy!!!!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Four of us went together for the first time on a Saturday Night. We called ahead and made a 6pm reservation, we weren't sure if we needed one, but figured we would be safe and make one. When we arrived our name was not on the list, whatever, they sat us within minutes anyway. The host seemed to be confused about everything and the waitstaff was completely overwhelmed...Maybe someone called out?- The guys ordered the Chicken Parm with Penne and the ladies had Bowtie Pasta with Chicken. When I asked the guys how their food was my brother in law said Chickenparmachewy- hence my title- and my hubby said it was bland- the Chicken Parm portion was huge, but neither finished it. Our Bowtie dishes are usually made with a light cream sauce, ours looked more like broth. The bathrooms were filthy and freezing. Not sure who was in charge of the fire that night but the smoke was out of control and people were rubbing their eyes and coughing The best part of the evening was the BREAD... I should have asked for more~

“Timing is Everything”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

We had dinner for the first time recently at Gia's. Décor reminiscent of a hunting lodge, fireplace and all. Our server was courteous, knowledgeable about the menu in general and the specials in particular. The food, Italian themed as you might guess from the name was very good and plentiful. Everything was proceeding well toward a quiet dinner in warm surroundings when..........
Just to our rear, two employees began loudly complaining to one another about their duties, lack of support, etc. Not very pleasant to listen to. Then, we noticed a very strong odor of disinfectant wafting over our dining booth and observed an employee busily washing the floor of the adjacent dining area either oblivious or uncaring about the effect he was having on diners. It literally spoiled our dining experience.

“Gia Restaurant 11/13/2013 Much Improved”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

I reveiwed the reviews on file before having dinner at Gia. The reviews were overwhelmingly negative. However, my experience was to the contrary. No problems with an old, odiforous rug. No problems with poor table service or delayed seating. No problems with roaming children. A very nice dining experience and, the seasonal pumpkin ravioli was very good. The price was also quite fair. I'd go again and recommend the restaurant. It is a local spot so it is short on romance and atmosphere but, so be it. Perhaps the owners/mangers took the prior negative assessments to heart.
