“Cape Cod's Best Nude Beach”
Review of Longnook Beach

Longnook Beach
Ranked #6 of 14 things to do in Truro
Attraction details
Reviewed May 27, 2016

With the sudden appearance of summertime weather, my husband and I couldn't resist the temptation to take time off from work to spend a few days on the Cape. We love being nude at the beach, as it is the most sensible, relaxing, and natural way to be. This is the best beach for nude sunbathing on Cape Cod.

Longnook Beach is open to non-residents of Truro until the third Saturday in June and then again after Labor Day. It's at the end of Longnook Road which comes off Route 6.

Walking south (to the right) for about 10 minutes gets you to the nude section. The beach area near the parking lot is run by the town even though it's part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The nude section is solely under the control of the CCNS, and officials ignore nudity in this section. Park rangers drove by a couple of times on ATVs but they were just going to check on the bird nests in the limited areas that are fenced off. We waved and they waved back.

There were fewer than 30 people on about a mile of beach: about a dozen single men and a few mixed couples. All were at least 50 years old. Some men seemed to walk past us multiple times, sometimes starting a conversation with us. My husband siad that they just wanted to get a close, prolonged look at me, but they seemed harmless enough. We're under 30, and it might have been nice to see more people in our demographic, but perhaps they couldn't get time off on short notice.

The setting is idyllic, with the high cliffs and endless seascape. You really feel as though you've gotten away from it all. In fact, cell phone coverage is spotty, so you're almost forced to disconnect from the outside world.

This is not really a place for excessive amorous activity - although you probably could engage in such. You just get a peaceful, easy feeling that the world is as it should be - if only for a few days.

By the way, there were just a handful of people on the town beach. We walked back and forth from the parking lot wearing the same tiny swimsuits that we wear on South Beach in Miami and on Orient Beach in St. Martin. For me, it's a single-string g-string; for my husband, it's a snug, fishnet g-string. Of course, I was topless. No one said a thing.

Yes this is our beach and it's free for our visual enjoyment. My pics were taken April 2016 and the wind kicked up and the beauty shows in her waves and beauty. Don't expect a boardwalk, a watersport rental company, vendors selling food... just eye candy!

One of our favorite beaches. If you're looking for a boardwalk and fancy facilities this is NOT the beach for you. Yes there is a small parking lot and yes, you'll need to walk down & up a giant dune trail but it is totally worth it. We saw whales most days from the beach and plenty of seals. Water was beautiful and warmer then expected.

Walk about half a mile south, most beautiful nude beach we have seen, we have been going for years! If you have never tried a nude beach this is the place to try it, not overly crowded and if you are shy it's easy to be off by yourself until you feel less nervous about it. Bring everything you need and enjoy the hike!
