My husband and I stopped here for a few hours of our day. Time well spent! The views are breath taking and the history is great! The little museum near the parting lot is filled with history as well. There is also a 9 hole golf course if you want to make a day if it.

Drove out to Truro to do the Highland Light tour. Paid $4.00 each for the tour. Great bargain! Tour starts on the ground level with a very knowledgable tour guide. Seemed like she really loves her job and the lighthouse too . After her portion of the tour was done (approximately 10 minutes), she radioed up to the second tour guide that our group was about to climb up. It is a steep climb of stairs but pretty quick to get to the second tour guide. The second tour guide talks about the actual workings of the light which was very interesting. After that, you are able to climb into the actual light area. This climb is more like climbing a ladder and the space is tight to reach the light (approximately 10 rungs of a ladder) As a person who does not like heights and really tight spaces, I got a little freaked out in my mind about how I was going to get back down - but no one else seemed to care or be bothered by that. View from the top of the lighthouse was wonderful. Nice signage to explain to you what you are looking out at from different places in the lighthouse. Beautiful path out to lookout spot where the lighthouse was originally seated. Great experience.

Highland Light is a must stop & visit. Being that it had tours and access to tower- this place a bit more special with its interesting history. There is a height requirement and there is the 60 step spiral staircase-all was worth the trip once you're on top and taking a look around.

The tour guides at this lighthouse are passionate about their job and will give you additional fun tidbits if you show interest. Was able to learn in detail how they were able to move the lighthouse from the coast out of danger. There is also a rock that shows you where the original position of the lighthouse on the way to look at the observation deck of the coast.

Had a lovely time touring and exploring the life of the Highland Lighthouse.

My son finally passed the height requirement this year. We brought our free pass back from last year. It was great! We went 2x. Historically, it's really very interesting as is the beach erosion that will continue to plague the lighthouse. My son is 5 and found it all really interesting. We had to keep explaining how water erodes and at the bottom of a cliff. :-) He loved the signs telling him all of the places he could see from up in the top. Good value. Nice activity. Nice staff. Many of whom seemed to be teachers (retired or other).
