We have eaten at this restaurant many times and always enjoy being seated in the Tap Room. The food is basic New England fare and is for the most part very good. The offerings for the Sunday dinner specials are not as extensive as the last time we ate here and there was no cheese and crackers to go with our drinks, either. The vegetable choice always seems to be winter squash, not my favorite, and this time a very generous amount of the vegetable was just plopped on the plate. In the past it has been served in its own individual dish. The offerings on the regular menu were extensive and we were all happy with our choices, duck, scallops, and swordfish. The inn, which is usually beautifully decorated for the holidays, did not have one Fall item to indicate the season. Perhaps these subtle changes are not new since our last visit was over a year ago. However, they did detract from our overall dining experience which in the past has been better.
