Description: B.T.'S Smokehouse is a dry-rubbed and slow-smoked barbecue restaurant located in the downtown section of Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Owner and Head Chef Brian Treitman is committed to delivering the very best barbecue to Massachusetts and beyond. Focusing on Southern-style cuisine, the menu offers natural grass-fed beef, chicken, pork, and other meats that have been dry rubbed and slow smoked for up to 24 hours with local apple and hickory woods. In addition to standard barbecue fare, the restaurant also offers more unusual entrees such as smoked salmon, chili made with brisket meat, and smoked turkey and chicken. We are also BYOB, so grab your favorite 6 pack on your way in. B.T.'S has won numerous awards since opening its doors, including the New England Regional Chili Cookoff and placing in the Top Ten Barbecue Restaurants in New England, and the Boston Globe named B.T.'S one of the "ten best places to bask in barbecue".

“Amazing pulled pork”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

I'm usually a rib fan, but on this trip my son and I ordered 1/4 rack of St. Louis style ribs, 1/4 rack of full spare ribs, 1 pint of the pulled pork, 4 dry rubbed wings and an order of hand cut fries to try as much as possible.

All of the food was amazing, but the pulled pork was the best. They have a good variety of what looked like home made sauces. We tried the hot, house and sweet sauces...all excellent. The spare ribs were huge and meaty. We saw others order the beef ribs, and Fred Flintstone would have been happy with those...they were gigantic!

Pricing seemed very reasonable compared to other BBQ joints I've visited. We ended up taking a lot of the food home since their portions were big.

I'm about 50 miles from BT's, but I'd make a trip back there again in a heartbeat.

“Ugh”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

I ordered the burnt end dinner. I got a plate of burnt fat. The coleslaw was off. The only thing I could eat were the beans. They were below average.

“Barbecue the way it was meant to be !”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

If you live in New England and you crave real southern-style barbecue this is the place for you.
You can get a single meat platter with two sides for 10.00 bucks! This is food with that real smoke
flavor and that homemade sauce that makes you want more. My wife had pulled chicken and
never looked up from her plate. I had pulled pork and it was so good I'm planning my next visit.
For sides we had mac'n cheese, dirty rice, black-eyed peas, and slaw- all were excellent. The
counter staff is upbeat, knowledgable, and hip, and the cooks are the real deal, cool and down
with the great product. If you think you know barbecue or even if you don't, this is barbecue the
way it was meant to be!

“Surly Service, but excellent food”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Based on word of mouth and TripAdvisor reviews we tried B.T. s Smokehouse. Overall our experience was excellent. If you're visiting the restaurant for the first time, the menu on the board is confusing. I know the restaurant was busy with a line going out the door, but the staff was less than helpful and slightly annoyed with the few questions we had. We ordered a three meat platter consisting of St. Louis ribs, smoked chicken and beef ribs. All the meats were delicious and cooked to perfection. For sides, the beans and slaw were very good. We found the cornbread too dry, but still tasty. Despite the surly service it was worth the trip.

“First Time Visit was Good Diggin”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

The wife and I stopped in and decided to split the three meat combo plate for $20 dollars. It comes with your choice of three meats, two sides and a nice size piece of corn bread. We also ordered two extra sides for a dollar each. The brisket is as good as you can get. The bark is very crispy and has a rich smoke flavor. The rub which is the heart of the bark has a great flavor. The brisket was very moist and flavorful. The Pulled Pork is just as good as the Brisket with a moist inside and a nice bark exterior. The Pulled Chicken which is also smoked was overpowered by the rub. The Cole Slaw and Cucumber salad were very fresh and had a strong vinegar flavor which gives it the southern style tartness that we enjoyed rather than just a plain old creamy style. The Hand Cut Fries were way to salty for our liking but the Potato salad was pretty good. The condiments area offers five BBQ dipping sauces that went from sweet, mild, mustard and fire hot. It also included (pickled onions, pickled carrots, hot peppers and Hellish relish)

There are a bunch of other goodies that are on the menu that we did not try but will definitely go back for again Like The Ribs, Brisket Rueben Sandwich, Wings, Beer Battered Onion Rings Made with Pabst Blue Ribbon, Burritos’ Mac and Cheese and on and on.
