The title pretty much says it all. I really like the quaint old style flavor of the place. Now I need to fill space because reviews need to be 100 Characters long. How silly of a restriction is that.

Just had a good business lunch ath the oxhead. Mickey M, our server was appropriately attentive without intruding. Food was great, and even though the tables were pretty much full, quality of both the food and the service did not suffer.

We will go back.

Had a great little lunch at the Oxhead Tavern in Sturbridge, MA. It was MLK's birthday so it was very crowded. That being said, the staff was very attentive. The ambiance is very New England, with a warm inviting fire at the front of the dining room. We had burgers and a beer.

If I had one suggestion it would be that they serve a better selection of micro brew beers. They are located right next to one of the best sources in the state for micros, Yankee spirits. BTW, I don't consider Sam Adams a micro brew!
All in all, if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and i have been going there 2 a year for years. Most of the time we bring friends who never been there before. All times been very good till this time. From the moment we walked into the place it felt diffrent. All the staff was new. We always ask for a table next to the fire place. We like that feeling in the winter. all the tables have oil candles on the that are lit. Had to asked for ours to be lit. Put our orders in steak tips and a filet and clam chowder. Now at this time its 9pm the fire was no flames left. Asked why said the town must have the fire place out before they close for the night. I guess get there early for that next time. We go there at this time all a time before. Waitress come back say we are out of steaks busy night. Manger comes over says the same thing to me. Frist thee thing on the menu were steak wow. Went with somthing diffrent. Never got the Clam chowder. Not the same place at all.

Nice place to dine lakeside in the summer. Other seasons the antique tavern is still pretty nice. The people are very nice here. The food is honestly only fair. Gourmet it ain't but we go there and enjoy an ok fairly priced meal pretty regularly in the spring, summer and early fall.
