Enjoyed the Thanksgiving Feast. Salad, complete turkey dinner including, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, dressing, fresh cut dark and light meat turkey,, gravy and an extra gravy boat brought to the table,, homemade cranberry sauce and followed by Indian pudding and ice cream(out of the world) or deep dish Apple pie and ice cream and coffee for $29. Absolutely delicious. Sitting in comfortable upholstered chairs. Just great.

After seeing huge portions coming to the tables of our fellow diners, we opted for some house made chips, clam chowder and salad. The prices are very very reasonable. The breads served were good. Chips were fantastic! Only problem was the soup - it was loaded with potatoes. More of a potato chowder than a clam chowder which is too bad. It was a nice and thick chowder but it clearly needed more clams!
BTW-Stop in the bakery - to die for! Especially the pumpkin whoopie pie!

After a long day at Sturbridge Village exploring and learning with the kids everyone was ready to relax for dinner. We originally had reservations for the upstairs dining but as the tavern doesn't accept reservations but we decided to eat downstairs as it appeared to be a bit more casual and informal important when dining with kids. The staff was more than happy to accommodate us and even notified the upstairs staff for us. The place was bustling but they seated us right away. Service was speedy and polite. We all enjoyed our meals which consisted of 3 kids meals, 2 salads, and two dinner entrees. Pot roast and the duck special were cooked to perfection. The butternut squash was the perfect accompaniment. Kids got cookies with their meals and we decided to forgo the dessert menu and get a treat from the bakery instead. The best hermits ever!! I cannot wait to come back and have them again as we cannot get them at home. Great atmosphere!

The old building itself was worth the visit for dinner. We spent the day at The Sturbridge Village and came here for dinner. Easy to find, plenty of parking in the back lot and easy walking access. The staff was wonderful. We were a pretty easy going group of four and enjoyed the warm cozy dining, drinks and food. The dining room was very busy. Getting drinks from the bar was a bit slow but we had a nice dinner overall.

Very ordinary food and service.

It's a nice place to stop between Boston and Hartford.

Take time to stroll around the grounds and the neighborhood.

The bread offerings are below par.

The wait staff seems overworked to the point that customers are an annoyance.
