Have been going to the Red Lion Inn for 45 years. it is still a gem. Took my daughter there when she was a baby, and now we take her son. it remains a wonderful family experience. How wonderful to step back in time in such beautifully maintained surroundings. It is truly a home away from home.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face the street because trucks use the road all night long.

Returned to RLI for another milestone anniversary... it was just as terrific as the last time (five years ago). We booked a king suite, which had a gas fireplace and was roomy. The bed was very comfortable. There are several restaurants from which to choose: we visited the tavern and the Lion's Den, the latter of which had evening entertainment. (The night we were there, a very talented msician played/ sang songs from the 60s and 70s, wowing the audience.) House cat Simon is a real charmer... he often joins guests who are sitting by the hotel's roaring fireplace. Cold as it was outside (20'ish) we opted for the outdoor jacuzzi on our last morning and were sooooo glad we did. We may not wait for our next milestone anniversary for another return visit!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, and we are beyond delighted that you enjoyed your stay here at The Red Lion Inn for your anniversary! We have a few select rooms in the Main Inn building as well as Maple Glen guesthouse that have working gas fireplaces. Of course, guests are welcomed to cozy up next to the wood-burning fireplace in our main lobby, where Lobby Ambassador Simon can often be found. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Inn soon – hopefully before your next milestone anniversary!

My wife and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary in March and I wanted to surprise her with a nice getaway. The Red Lion Inn was perfect! We have been to Stockbridge, MA before for day trips but never stayed for an overnight. The inn is both beautiful and historic and holds so much character. From the moment I picked up the telephone to make the reservations to the second we walked out the door, the experience was wonderful. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and attentive. Everyone was courteous and always greeted us with a smile.

The Red Lion Inn is conveniently located several miles from the Massachusetts Turnpike and nestled quaintly in the center of Stockbridge. The architecture of the inn is beautiful and has been maintained well since the 1800's. After checking in, we got a brief description from the front desk staff of the layout of the inn and grounds. It flows with character and has many antique pictures, china, and other artifacts throughout the hallways. The room keys are actual keys, not electronic swipe cards like in modern hotels which adds to the historic feel. We stayed in Room 208 which is a very nice room with a soft and comfortable bed, and has a private bath. Upon entering the room, we were pleasantly greeted with a nice note wishing us a happy anniversary, which just goes to show the level of attentiveness from the staff. Our room was very clean and had some modern amenities including a gas insert fireplace and forced hot air heat and air conditioning. I was very pleased that they have added these modern features without compromising the character of the historic building features. These features worked well and were very quiet. The inn has some areas where the wooden floors are slightly curvy and not quite level but this is part of her character and is certainly welcomed and not a safety issue at all.

There are sitting rooms throughout the inn decorated nicely which provide nice areas to sit and relax. There are working elevators for convenience, and the inn has been outfitted with an up-to-date fire alarm system and a fire sprinkler system for added safety. Even with these modern safety upgrades, they are hardly noticeable and they do not detract from the inns historic character.

We stayed at the inn for one night and had both dinner and breakfast in the main dining room. We were lucky enough to get a nice window seat for dinner. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was incredible and was perfectly cooked. Some of the food from the menu is from local farms in the area, presentation was beautiful, and everything was very tasty and fresh. Both quality and quantity were top notch and we did not leave the least bit hungry at all.

After dinner, we decided to lounge in the heated pool and hot tub. Both are located outside, but conveniently nestled just steps behind the inn. Both were nice and clean and the temperature was perfect. The inn offers cotton robes to wear from the room to the pool which was a nice surprise. The area is fenced in and was both quiet and very private. After our relaxing dip in the hot tub, we went to the Lion Den to check out the live entertainment. The Lions Den is located in the lower level of the inn and was very fun. Music was inviting and the sound level was not too loud.

Everything about our stay was just great and I can't wait until the next time we can visit. If you are looking for a special place to go for a romantic getaway and enjoy the characteristics of and old historic inn, look no further than the Red Lion Inn. Thank you so much for making our 15th wedding anniversary so special!!!

This amazing historic Inn has charm and character. Rooms cozy and clean. Pub was fun and the rocking chairs on the porch relaxing. A violinist entertained us with lovely music. The gift shop was quaint and the shop keeper full of information. Pool warm and refreshing. Plenty of sights nearby

My husband and I did not stay at the Inn but did go for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Just walking into the lobby, you felt warm and welcomed with the roaring fireplace and the comfy couches! The hostess who sat us was very friendly and nice and we were seated right away. The menu has a little of everything. Out waiter Timothy was very nice and accommodation, even taking our picture for us at the end of our meal! My husband had the eggs Benedict, made exactly as he likes and I had the oatmeal with toast. Everything from the coffee to the meal to the jam for the toast was delicious and the price was very reasonable!!
