“Lovely!”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

Lovely place! Very clean with lovely proprietors, who were so helpful about the local area. The room was lovely, a little dated but had a cuteness about it. The bed was so unbelievably comfortable, although the room was a little warm. We loved the breakfast experience of sitting with all of the other guests on one big table and all sharing our travel stories. Breakfast was a tad odd with a baked muesli dish, but other than that we loved it!

Firstly, we arrived early due to a snow storm which the innkeeper was very accomodating. We chose to stay in the barn suites instead of the cottage as originally planned. The innkeeper, Len, was kind enough to let us choose whichever we wanted with no up charge. Many other reviews stated the cleanliness was excellent. I would say it was average (bathroom only). Their was hair on the floor in the bathroom and the molding near the toilet needed to be wiped down. Being fair, I am extremely critical of a clean bathroom so I was a little disappointed but got over it quickly as the room was lovely. The first day was a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and fruit salad. The second day was an egg dish, sausage and fruit salad. Adequate but nothing over the top. The main house, grounds, and outbuildings are lovely. A place to enjoy. A little noise from the Masspike was heard. Cannot walk to any shops or restaurants. The innkeepers wife, Alice, was only seen at breakfast once and Len was doing all the work as far as I could see. Overall, I would visit again.

Room Tip: The barn suites and cottages are a little more modern, roomy but still have country charm with large...

Stayed in the "out of Africa" suite in mid-January. Beautiful suite! Decorated in a safari theme, but in a classy way. Working fireplace, cozy feel....the owners were very, very friendly and the breakfast was great. I would love to come back in the summer when the pool and tennis courts are open. I'd recommend a stay here.

We spent three nights in mid-November at this lovely inn, just a few minutes outside of downtown Stockbridge -- close enough to access everything easily and far enough off of Main Street for a really peaceful retreat. We stayed in one of the Barn suites (the newest and most well-appointed rooms) and could not have asked for anything more. Very large room, private deck, fireplace, lovely chairs and sherry. Huge bathroom, all the amenities one could ask for, and a 1 minute walk across the lawn to the main house for yummy breakfast each morning, as well as wine and cheese in the evening. There, too, is a butler's pantry, stocked with fresh-made cookies, coffees, teas, hot chocolate, etc. Help yourself. Wonderful restaurants in town (dinner at Once Upon a Table was WONDERFUL), the fabulous Norman Rockwell museum in which you can spend a day, Shakespeare & Co., etc., etc. But I must say, with all there was to do, we were tempted to just stay in our lovely room and relax, reading and watching DVDs (there is a library with selections in the main Inn) on the flat screen TV. A wonderful oasis.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Barn (there are three buildings) which has the newest and most luxurious rooms.

We recently stayed at the Inn at Stockbridge and had a great time. Our hosts were friendly and accomodating. The area is beautiful with many interesting things to see and do, even off season.
The Wharton suite was homey, spacious and well kept. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious. Can't wait to go back.

My lady and I stayed in the beautifully decorated Blagdon Suite at the Inn at Stockbridge. The champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were great. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very roomy and very spotless with a dual shower head in the full bath.

Breakfast was well prepared, high quality and delicious. Everything about the Suite and the Inn was first class and as expected.

Innkeepers Alice and Len were very personable and accommodating. Great place for a romantic getaway. I would highly recommend the Inn at Stockbridge to my best friends.

Alice and Len are extremely friendly and this went beyond being hosts -- Len was most accommodating when my wife discovered a tick byte late in the evening and we had to get some tweezers to remove it! They have printed directions to many points of interest and a wealth of suggestions for things to do. The house is comfortable and warm, with downstairs areas inviting you to sit and relax. I spent several hours looking over histories of Stockbridge and even a binder giving their history of the Inn. The breakfasts are excellent -- pancakes and french toast perfect, with unusual touches like pumpkin spice in the pancakes. Lovely. The only reason why I am not rating 5 stars is that our room itself looked a bit old -- windows needed paint, bathroom window rattled in the wind -- and it was hard to get good ventilation, so the room could be stuffy. We did open one window but could not get the storm window open on the other one. The carpet in that room seemed old and somewhat dingy -- could use a cleaning. There was also no temperature control so we ended up either too cold or too hot.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rose Room which had the issues mentioned above. A couple of the others on the same...
