At first it looked small and too rural to spend the time, but I hadn't noticed the gardens are on BOTH sides of the street. And...lots of benches for sitting and gazing, interesting sculptures and small buildings. It made for a lovely couple of hours. Tough to photograph - the noon sun was strong and perhaps there's an elevation issue. On the side with the parking are a number of different gardens. There's also an educational center, vegetable gardens, and more - they've nicely packed a lot in the space they have. Food for purchase was simple munchies, no dining area. Modest gift shop.

I visited the gardens in the early morning while other family members slept in. It was easy to find, easy to park, and pleasant to tour the gardens without committing to a lengthy trail. The theme gardens were inspiring. Most were comfortable, natural arrangements which could influence my gardening choices at home. There were educational comments along with the plant identifications. I enjoyed the experience thoroughly.

The perennials are in bloom! On our visit we had a treat, it was a free admissions day! Many people touring the gardens which are very well maintained. The arboretum is impressive with large old growth trees. A must if you're in the area.
