This "house museum" has something for everyone Rose gardens, Shaker chairs, China and dec arts from most of the early 20th century. They have an audio tour that is great don't forget the Moon garden.

“Magical day, superlative staff, in an extraordinary location”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

Went with husband and sons to Naumkeag planning on a simple picnic on their lovely grounds. Penny at Admissions encouraged us to take the House Tour. Our tour guide, Rebecca, made it very worth our while - with her scholarly and a bit dishy background on all the famous people who had been part of Naumkeag's development. The gardener took time out to answer my questions about preparations made to secure the famous "Blue Stairs" prior to Hurricane Irene. Thank you to the staff for being so generous.
You made our day so special.

“It Like They Just Left”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

The building has the original furnishings. The grounds are like they just left for the day. It is nice visiting a piece of history.

“Quiet mansion overlooking the valley”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

This is run by the Trustees of the Reservations. We were members and were able to get in free. After you finish your guided tour of the house, you are given players that guide you on an audio tour of the gardens. No cameras are allowed inside the house. This is a worthwhile stop especially for members.
