I have been here several times since I moved to the area, and a friend of mine told me "you have to try a donut that is not from a chain in order to know what a real donut is." She was so right. These are dense, crispy and absolutely wonderful. I do think that Atkins Farm in Hadley has donuts that can for sure compete if not beat Mrs. Murphy's.
For the poster who gave Mrs. Murphy's one star for not being wheelchair accessible, I work in an old building that would require major money to renovate to comply with the code and is grandfathered in, as I assume Mrs. Murphy's is. It's not just about putting in a ramp. All bathrooms and access ways have to meet the width and accessibility standards, which, for anyone who has been inside, would be virtually impossible. I'm thinking it would be completely cost prohibitive for a small business like Mrs. Murphy's. I have a few friends in wheelchairs and they are thrilled when I show up with a box for everyone to enjoy. It's always workable.
