My wife and I have been going to the Blue Rock since 1985. At that time a number of the desk staff were in their 60's, we were in our 30's. Now we're in our 60's and many of the staff in their 30's, wow, how time flies. In the early 90's (as I recall) the Blue Rock added 4 new Junior Suites, #210 being our favorite as it overlooks the golf course and the Motor Inn yard. The Suite is large, beautifully furnished and maintained. There are stairs to reach the second floor. Upon our arrival I asked if there was anyone who could help with our 4 large pieces of luggage as I have a health issue that won't let me carry anything heavy up stairs. The Property Manager Ryan O'Loughlin without missing a beat offered his services even though he is always impeccably dressed in a shirt and tie and dress pants. (yes people do notice) He not only gladly assisted but refused a very well deserved tip. We noticed during our 5 night stay that Ryan's people skills with all clients is just outstanding, he is concerned, genuine, and a real problem solver. When some one is very good at their job it is usually a sign that they enjoy what they're doing, without a doubt Ryan does and it reflects on the guests. Having stayed at the Blue Rock now for 28 years Ryan is the best Manager the property has ever had, he is a tremendous asset to this property.

The dining room offers a wonderful breakfast and again the staff and food are terrific. Our waiter for the week was Alan who not only provided us with great service but being a full time Cape resident was able to provide daily tips on sites and restaurants we hadn't been to even though we've been Cape visitors since 1979. I've dealt with the pubic for 37 years before retiring last year and Alan would be on the top of my list to hire. His communication skills and genuine personality come across so clearly. Alan was not only welcoming every morning but provided A+ service with coffee refills etc... Our only let down was the Motor Inn were out of "adult cold cereal" and only had a variety of cereal selections for kids. Apparently the delivery of cereal never did show the week we were there.

The Blue Rock I believe opened in 1965 and the owners have continued to update it and maintain it to perfection, it has never looked better. Rachel provides landscaping services and the flowers and grass were post card perfect. Coming from the Palm Springs area which survives on tourism we are accustomed to seeing dozens of Hotels and Motor Inns with remarkable landscaping and great attention to detail. The Blue Rock could give any Palm Springs/Palm Desert property a run for it's money.

The Blue Rock is a short distance off the "beaten path" and a wonderful retreat from the traffic and crowds of Route 28. (we are very quiet people) The Motor Inn also has it's own private beach which is just a five minute drive away, the staff were so accommodating and helpful each morning setting up the umbrellas and beach chairs, again staff at any vacation stop can make or break your vacation. All the Blue Rock Staff are outstanding at what they do, we can't recommend this property highly enough. Looking forward to year 29 !

Room Tip: Junior Suite #210 overlooks the golf course and the side balcony overlooks the Motor Inn yard. (be...

As a divorced dad with three teen-aged boys (twin 17 year olds and a 15 year old complete my foursome!), this worked wonderfully for us. We played at least 18 holes each day of our 4 day stay. The Stay and Play package offered very good value for us. The course is a joy to play; it's not a pitch and putt but a true Par 3 course that will make you use all of your clubs. The resort is away from the noise and bustle and cheesiness of 28 but still close enough to satisfy the kids' needs for mini-golf and go-karts.
Any time you get your teenagers to cheerfully and happily engage with you, that's a win! This place created that environment - right down to the chipping / putting green where Dad realized he's no longer the best golfer in the family! We will definitely return.

We have stayed here for many years. I originally booked the hotel based upon trip advisor reviews. We are not golfers but appreciate its quiet residential locale off of crazy Rt. 28. The PROS: Quiet location, clean, great staff, on-site bar and grille, lovely and superbly maintained grounds.
CONS: Not the newest or most updated: bedding, drapes, plumbing and decorations are mid 80's at best; noisy A/C. Breakfast is typical Best Western. NO REAL MAPLE SYRUP! We are New Englanders and will pay extra for the real deal. Breakfast is average compared to the top-rated local restaurants.

Room Tip: The garden view rooms tend to be dark- the pool facing rooms are brighter.

We selected the Blue Rock Golf Resort based on reviews from other travellers as well as the photos. It did not disappoint! The modestly furnished room was very comfortable and clean. The surroundings are very well kept, visually appealing and pleasantly tranquil. Although we did not golf, this hotel was ideally situated for us to conveniently access many of the towns on the Cape. The great thing about this Red Jacket Resort is the ability to visit sister hotels within a 10 minute drive. We took great delight in spending a couple days using facilities at the Red Jacket Beach Resort where we enjoyed the tennis court by the beach, the beach bar and the beach itself, complete with loungers, umbrellas and towel service. Both properties are a little slice of paradise on Earth, each with its special characteristics. We would have to say that, the ultimate reason we would return to the Blue Rock Resort is the outstanding service and friendliness of all staff; it is clearly a great place to work as everyone we encountered, from gardening, to cleaning, to desk, to restaurant staff was genuinely happy and was pleased to assist when needed or to just say hello and have a quick chat. We looked forward to breakfast every morning in the restaurant where Alan and Nick served up a generous and hearty breakfast along with a large dose of witty banter. We even discussed making the 9 hour trip from Ontario, Canada, again in the fall just to surprise them! You just never know....this time we won't take the long way via NYC! ;)

Thanks again for a superb stay! We highly recommend the Blue Rock Resort with its wonderful staff, and situated on a jewel of a property, for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Hoping to visit with you again very soon!

Room Tip: The room with the king sized bed was very clean, comfortable, modestly furnished and had a great bal...

Our family had a great time at the blue rock. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was good and reasonable. The grounds are so well maintained with beautiful flowers all around. We're not golfers, but enjoyed looking out at the nice course. Jessica and Ryan do a great job running the place.

This was our fourth "two night" golf pkg at Blue Rock. The golf course is perfect for our 10 "girls".
Alan, in the dining room, is always great to deal with as is Kevin in the lounge, where you can grab a burger. The rooms are well kept and the staff always pleasant, can't wait to go back next year,
We may even get into the pool!

Room Tip: The first floor suites have a good patio area. Two suites side by side ideal for a group.

This was our first return to Blue Rock in about 20 years. What brought us back was the challenging par 3 course and personal service. Unfortunately, we discovered that the rooms really haven't been updated at all. Although room and linens were clean, the furniture and bedding desperately needs an update. The beds we found were not the most comfortable. The positives are the well cared for grounds and great breakfast in the grill room, which we decided to add onto our room package. The golf course is beautiful, in great shape and challenging. They seem to know how to accomodate large parties of golfers and keep the groups moving throughout the day. We did enjoy our stay. My only suggestions is to update the bathrooms and furniture.
