We planned a nice dinner on the cape with family visiting from California. In short, the waitress was snotty and rude, we called the manager over and she seemed to defend her waitress and justified her behavior. The manager did switch our waitress, who ended up being excellent. But was kind of too late....Left a bad taste with all of us how the whole situation was handled. If the food had been outstanding we would go back, but there are too many other restaurants that have outstanding service with great food.

We went on a Saturday evening and had heard that the chowder was "award winning" but there are so many claims out there we had to try it and see - and we were not disappointed, it was indeed the best! Real thick and loaded with clams! Service was excellent, good water view, and all food (we had seafood dinners) was very good. Littleneck clams on half shell were superb - very fresh and kept ice cold! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a wonderful meal here - view of the water too! My favorite was the scallops wrapped in bacon! HUGE lobster roll, good filet mignon. It was great to do dinner here and be a minute walk to the beach too.

We ate here twice in six days. Undeniably the best fried oysters we ate while on the Cape. Eating at the bar had a very friendly feel, a little like a sushi bar conviviality. The Thai mussels were fabulous.

When we arrived at the Red Jacket Beach Resort, we were hungry and tired from a long drive to the Cape. The hotel clerk recommended The Skipper as a close place for dinner. I think she was exactly correct. It was close. There was a bus group just leaving as we arrived, not a good sign. The staff was friendly, but clearly rushed. The clam chowder was good. My Ahi Tuna was nicely seasoned, but it was chewy and tough which made me question if it was actually high grade tuna. It might have been better for something other than serving raw. The menu was typical tourist seashore items and a little over priced. Fortunately, with a little more homework on our part, the rest of our vacation was marked by excellent meals at such places as The Black Dog and The Glass Onion. If your overly tired and just want something to hold body and soul together, then The Skipper will suffice. Otherwise, do your homework and enjoy some of the truly great restaurants on the Cape.
