Cultural Center of Cape Cod
Reviewed January 23, 2011

The building has turned out to be stunning.
There is always art hanging on the walls with new displays every 2 weeks or so.
There is an amazing array of different activities going on such as concerts, plays, community events, opening nights for artists, etc.
One can find something new and different every week.
The setting is nice with lots of parking.
It is handicap accessible.
It is open every day for people to drop in to look at the paintings.

The Cultural Center is open everyday and has lots of activities. There are art exhibits, concerts, plays, language luncheons, lectures, etc. This is a particularly good resource in the Winter when most other attractions are closed

Don't wait for a rainy day to visit this Mid Cape cultural center. If you do, you will miss out on some great activities, from exhibitions to poetry readings and music cafes, and from painting or Irish literature classes to opportunities to practice conversing in French or Italian. Recently voted one of Massachusetts 1000 great places, this is some place you will be happy you visited.

Truly a community arts space, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod has made remarkable ground in the 3 years since its opening. A former bank that lay dormant for close to 20 years has now been rehabilitated to house the Cultural Center, something that the town of Yarmouth needed to bring more culture to the area. On any given day, you might find ballroom dancing, painting classes for children, French, Spanish or Italian groups, photography groups, Murder Mystery plays, lectures, music cafes and the list goes on and on.

With 4 galleries, there is never a lack of artwork on the walls and it changes every 1-2 weeks, so there's always something new. They even feature the "vault gallery", a former bank vault that has been turned into a small gallery that provides an intimate atmosphere for some unique artwork. And we can't forget the Artisan's Gallery. A boutique in the Center featuring all types of artwork, music and literature for sale from its many artisan members. You must visit the Culturel Center of Cape Cod on your next trip to the Cape. It's never the same place twice.

A beautifully restored historical bank building turned into a venue for all the arts in the center of South Yarmouth. Walking Distance to restaurants, lodging, shops and the Bass River. The center showcases all the arts, with it's centerpiece being the 4 galleries that are open seven days a week and free to the public. there are concerts, poetry readings, music cafes, dancing, and theater in addition to the visual arts. Classes and demonstrations are available. All events are at a reasonable. They change daily so it is best to consult their website listed below for the most current information. There is also an artisan's gallery in the building that sells art and handmade objects from local Cape Cod artists. a fabulous place to pick up a gift for yourself or someone else to remember your trip to the Cape. The staff is so helpful and friendly. You can't help but enjoy yourself there.
