The remodel and updates are just a small part of the success at the Black Cow. We had a fabulous celebratory meal with great service, tasty beverages, an array of menu options and a cozy atmosphere (bathrooms are great too!) Check out their draft beers in 2013!

The Black Cow has been one our favorites for years. The restaurant has been closed for a major renovation and just reopened.
The atmosphere is modern.
The food and service were excellent, however we did find that remodeling also equated to higher prices. You no longer are able to just have a cup of soup or chowder and the wine prices are also much higher.

We found the seating to be very crowded and the high stools very uncomfortable ( maybe just an age thing).

Though they did a great job in the new styling, we both preferred the comfort of the booths and low tables and more space between tables.

We were here this past weekend! This place ended up being horrible against the expectations we had after the renovations. Place looks great but the food and service were horrrible. Over cooked meats, too much vinegar to even taste the bernaise sauce. The asparagus looked like split pea soup. Serious lack of execution! I dont care if my water glass is empty just have some personality when you come to my table... My waitress had cuts all over her arms like she was suicidal or a junky...Come on guys......... With the prices you charge you should be throwing rose petals at me. Go to 15 Walnut or Hale street. Less beer selection but overall better!

my ladie friend and i went to check out the new black cow that just reopened. we had two appetizers she had two glasses of wine and i had one glass of wine and a beer. the bill came to $ 60.00. thw appetizers were horrible, we got the squid and fish toccos. the squid was so under cooked that it was like shoe leather and the fish tocco was very small. This used to be a really nice place to stop for a drink and maybe a sandwich. ( not anymore ) the dinner prices are the highest around. what a shame. the remodeling came out great, but thet need to lower the prices

This place goes up and down according to who's cooking. My last experience was mediocre.
