I went here for the first time in years after moving out of state. The decor is still the same - a bit outdated - but fortunately the food hasn't changed either. The food is still good and affordable.

Autentic italian food, a nice quaint cafe syle restaurant in a smal town on rt 116 in Souyh Hadley . Very low key and quiet and very nice atmosphere for dining. The Prices are great as well for us that watch our pennies.

The food is just slightly better than average. However I have never had a less than friendly experience in this restaurant and you can tell that the owner and staff take pride. I have seen the same cooks for literally years. While you are not going to confuse the food with more upscale area restaurants like Alina's in Hadley, for the price it is pretty good. The food is comparable with probably their nearest competitor "Pizza Palace" in Granby, the level of service in Parthenon is in a different class. While I have had few pleasant experiences with the staff in Pizza Palace, I have had no unpleasant experiences with the staff of Parthenon. Coming originally from Brockton, MA, an area with a heavy Greek Influence, one thing I would recomend is maybe a few more Greek specialties like Lamb Kabob with Greek rice. Lamb cooked in a good way (not tough, etc) in this area would be great for me, or at least the option of pizza with the more grainery Greek crust, would make me a patron a few times a week. Also maybe experimenting with the buffalo wing sauce just a little more. All in all your best bet in South Hadley for good Greek and Italian food!

Fish and chips along with pasta dishes have been our favorite meals. They also make a very good vodka martini!

I live in South Hadley and have been going to Parthenon for almost 20 years. The owner Greek and he makes the BEST spaghetti sauce. I buy just the sauce and bring it home to have with pasta, put on chicken parm, etc. Their greek foods are excellent and the also have a wide variety of foods on their menu with lots of different specials too. Not the fanciest place inside, but the food is worth it.
