“beautiful butterflies, bad customer service”
Reviewed May 17, 2009

The place is full of beautiful butterflies, and is very informational, however it is also very pricey for the size. Adults $12, Childern 3 and up$8. I was very upset to find out that no matter what the owner gives no refunds, or doesnt accomadate those childern who dont take to the full on butterfly experience. My 5 year old child stayed in the butterfly room for less then 5 minutes and left in tears. The owner himself refused to refund me for her. It ruined my day because not only did I not get to see the whole place, but i was out $40. Think twice before taking your younger childern,

I visited Magic Wings in December of 2008 and had an amazing time. The indoor greenhouse is very warm and filled with all types of plants, which makes this a great winter getaway. Although the butterfly conservatory is not very large, I spent several hours sitting in the gazebo and on benches just watching 1000s of butterflies all around me. I would definitely visit again.

“Magic Wings S. Deerfield, MA”
Reviewed June 15, 2008

Magic Wings is a fun place for visitors of all ages. The butterflies are gorgeous. Some dance through the air drifting from branch to branch and petal to petal. Others zoom by with dizzying speeds. The butterfly colors are brilliant and eye catching. The children melt when butterflies land on their hands. They carry their new friends on outstretched hands. Some butterflies land on a person and stay with that person throughout the entire visit. Amazing, fun, interactive, calming, an absolute must!

“pleasant afternoons in western MA”
Reviewed April 5, 2008

This is a small place with only 3 exhibit rooms. The first room has some butterfly art and cockroaches and the other two rooms are the gardens with lots and lots of butterflies flittering around you. The $12 per adult admission fee seemed steep so we made sure we spent about an hour in the gardens relaxing and taking pictures. It is humid inside but not too oppressive. They have a few lizards you can touch but it is mostly about the butterflies. Unless you are a real nature lover, I wouldn't make the trip just for this. If you have a day, I would combine Magic Wings with 2 other great places just minutes away along the same road- the large Yankee Candle shop and Richardson's Candy Kitchen where you can pick 14 fabulous hand dipped chocolates for only $7.50.

“Worth a trip”
Reviewed February 24, 2008

A worthwhile stop for an hour or so while in South Deerfield (where most go to visit Yankee Candle). The conservatory is teeming with colorful butterflies of all varieties. There are also other critters that you don't see every day (we liked the Chinese Quails). Very educational as well. Lots of benches scattered around to just sit back and watch the graceful creatures.
