“Better than average food good beer selection”

There is nothing extra amazing about the Burren. Pretty decent Irish bar food and good beer for a standard price. A good place to go during the day or over the weekend when many other places are full.

“Great atmosphere, live music and comedy”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The Burren is one of my favorite places in Boston. They offer a wide selection of good pub grub-- nothing too special, although they make up for it with atmosphere and drinks. They have an old fashioned homey front room accompanied by a live Celtic/bluegrass band playing an assortment of instruments. In the backroom they have a big stage where many local artists and comedians perform a wide array of sound and material. They offer a wide selection of drinks including my favorite, Belgian Palm Ale. However, on Fridays and Saturdays they charge a $5 cover and the whole atmosphere shifts as they welcome Pop and oldies cover bands. I definitely recommend trying this place out on a Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday night!

“Cozy & Friendly”
Reviewed May 22, 2012

Loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in, very laid back feeling. The bartender was incredibly friendly, his thick Irish accent just added to the charm of the place, that it did almost make me feel like an outsider.

Good selection of beer on draft, nice and cold. Will be back here sooner than later.

“Awesome local hang out”
Reviewed April 6, 2012

- Great bands at low cover prices on the weekend.
- Good brunch on weekend mornings.
- Can get crowded, but is worth the wait for a high energy beer drinking experience.
- On weekday nights they have more ethic folk bands.
- All in all a neighborhood institution!
- Dinner is so so and can be hit or miss, but you really didn't come for the food did you?
- Filming location for "Next Stop Wonderland"

Go to the Burren - for music, for jamesons, for breakfast or a pot of tea....a dark pub with a friendly air.
