The food wasn't bad, but certain times of the year they only have a limited liquor license. They have beer and wine but only hard liquor part of the year. I'm really not sure why but I can't drink beer and wine so I was disappointed. The bartender was very nice and they had 1/2 price appetizers at the bar on Saturday afternoons which were good.

We generally only go a few times a year, but we are never disappointed. With drinks, appetizers, and the main course, expect to pay around $150 a couple. But you will not be let down. I always have the sirloin and it just seems to melt in my mouth. My wife loves the Filet Mignon and gets the side sauce to accompany it. The flavored mash potatoes and steamed veges are a nice compliment to the main dish. An appetizer of shrimp cocktail always seems to start thinks off well. If you still have room, the deserts are worth the belt loosening.

We stopped into this local favorite for the first time because we had a gift certificate to use. We discovered that they had a happy hour on appetizers at the bar every day before 6 pm. It was a Sunday afternoon and we generally like sitting at the bar, so we took advantage of the offering. It wasn't overly crowded at about 4:15 pm and we chose seats at the end of the bar. The two bartenders weren't overly warm and friendly, but they were polite enough. We started with two glasses of pinto grigio and chose he chicken teriyaki skewers and Rhode Island style calamari. We enjoyed our wine while we waited and the bartender started warming up a little to us. We asked for some bread. It was decent enough but could've really used some olive oil to dress it up. We chose not to waste calories on it. Or apps arrived and we were hooked! The calamari was light and very tasty and the skewers were delicious. They were not over cooked like skewers can tend to be and had a nice light flavor. We also ordered the California rolls (yes they serve sushi). I'm not a fan. I then ordered a pizza rustico (pepperoni, roasted mushrooms and scallions). It was out before we even finished our apps. The pizza was delicious!! It was very thin crusted and the sauce was so tasty. Nice and light for an appetizer style pizza. Because the apps were all happy hour, our drinks (2) and the apps I mentioned came out to $46. We'd return if we're passing by. Oh, it has to be a popular place because by the time we left it was packed for an early Sunday night.

When my wife and lived in Rhode Island, we grew to love Chardonnay's in Seekonk. The restaurant's happy hour menu is a great value. We highly recommend the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Highly recommended!
