Historic Jacob Hill Inn

We found Jacob Hill online when we asked for bed and breakfasts in Rhode Island. We never expected it to be so charming, and our hosts were gracious and accommodating. The Inn was clean, bright, and cheery. Our every need, i.e. directions, wine glasses, etc, were seen to promptly and with courtesy. The stuffed french toast was original and tasty as were the other breakfast items prepared. This is a must return place for us!

Our stay at the Historic Jacob Hill Inn was one of our best family vacations. Eleonora and Bill are by far innkeepers extraordinaire. The Inn itself is amazing with a wonderful combination of sophisticated decor along with evident personal touches. Every outing we planned had a Bill and Eleonora touch to it ranging from the best directions to where to get the best ice cream! The breakfasts were a tasty send off for our daily adventures. And we took full advantage of the pool most afternoons after sightseeing in the area. We truly arrived strangers and left not only friends, but feeling like family.

My wife and I were looking for a bed and breakfast after a conference in Boston. We happened upon the Jacob Hill Inn by chance using the Internet. Their website is great with many links to useful information. The website paled in comparison to the excellent accommodations, wonderful decorations, and family-like atmosphere created by Bill, Eleanora, and Susan. The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms spacious, and immaculate, with updated fixtures and jacuzzi tubs. The main house and converted barn are beautifully finished, most of the work being done by Bill himself. We would not hesitate to return. This is truly a five star B and B.

We stayed at Jacob Hill in the Plymouth Suite over the Fourth of July holiday. The room was nice (and, happily, just as it was represented on the website), the food very good and, best of all, the proprietors, Bill and Elenora, were extremely helpful in describing and navigating what to see and how to get there! If in the area again, we'd go back.

We had the best time here. Our room, The Vanderbilt Suite and the whole inn was just beautiful! The owners, Bill and Elenora are some of the nicest people we have ever met. They go above and beyond making you feel welcome and comfortable. The website says 'Arrive a stranger, leave as a friend" And they really mean it. We plan to go back every year.

This inn glows with the warmth of its hosts, Bill and Eleanora, who make each guest feel a part of the ongoing project of perfecting a beautiful nineteenth-century inn one room at a time, one detail at a time. We stayed in a beautiful, spacious room where the host told us he'd just finished redoing the bathroom (lovely tile, black-and-white toile wallpaper). Breakfasts are ample and include choices for different kinds of eaters; the property--only ten minutes from Providence, Rhode Island--is as relaxing, or active (with tennis, swimming, walking) as a guest makes it. We'll be back again.

We were looking for the perfect getaway - and boy, was this the place! The Inn is absolutely fantastic - the laid back atmosphere, the comfy room, great breakfasts, nice "inn-mates" and last but not least, El and Bill, owners extraordinaire! You could not meet a nicer, more genuine couple who really do make you feel like you're family!!!! They have such a wealth of knowledge of local sites and restaurants which they are happy to share! It makes your time away from home that much more special!
