Great view of Scituate harbor. Good food; not over the top, but definitely good. Upstairs can get pretty noisy by the bar, but the view is better.

The Brunch, Music and view are a great take for a lazy Sunday.
And if you stop in for lunch the Lobster Stew and the Lobster roll are winners. The rest of their menu needs to be more contemporary, and they should consider higher quality suppliers. People want fantastic Seafood and they can do it here. They prove it with their classic fish dishes at Brunch, but need to move some of those flavors and ideas inot their regular menu

For years this was our go to restaurant when family came to the South Shore. It has absolutely beautiful views, try it upstairs in a Nor'easter, its unforgettable. The food was always reasonable quality, quantity and price. We never raved about the food but we didn't rage against it either.

We were there a couple weeks before Christmas with friends visiting from Western MA. It was dark and in winter so not a lot of harbor activity to watch but still pretty. Service was very slow, over 20 minutes to get our drinks. One person ordered two appetizers, (instead of an entree) and asked for them to be served with everyone's dinner. They brought out her onion almost immediately. She asked to have it sent back until the other food came out. When the food finally came out we got 3 of the 4 dinners including the onion soup which apparently just sat somewhere getting cold. It had to go back a 2nd time to be reheated. The Pork chop was dry, tough and cold. I had the Haddock which was fine. The last plate was a steak which came out well past medium ordered. How was the experience... Our guest laughed asking what was wrong didn't we like them any more?

It appears they are understaffed as the wait staff was always racing around but you could not catch their eye when you needed to. The carpeting could also stand to be a little cleaner.

It is such a great location it should be the town's flagship restaurant. I'll be there again in the summer for cocktails upstairs and maybe some Oysters, but we will head elsewhere for dinner.

Beautiful view of the harbor. We had a corner table in the sun and the service was OK. Took a little bit of time to get drinks on a hot day but it was a little busy... food was decent. Good oysters on the half shell. But the reason you come here, if you want my opinion :) is the view, not the food. If you want to spend a couple hours drinking beer or wine, knowing that it's not the most magnificent food you'll ever eat, I'd recommend. It's why you're there -- to enjoy the beautiful view & to enjoy the day. Wonderful location.

Chesters has a nice view of Scituate harbor and the nautical comings and goings of fishing and sightseeing boats, but the food is sub-par. We went for a late Easter dinner, and since it was a holiday, they had a limited menu, and may not have had a full kitchen staff.

The atmosphere inside is that of a seaside pub restaurant, and the decor and furnishings are dated and somewhat worn. (I guess the expectation is that you'll be looking out the windows ... on 3 sides of the restaurant ... and won't notice the inside).

Our server was attentive and nice, but there wasn't much she could do about the sub-par food.
