We stayed for three nights at the end of our three week trip to the East coast. We were looking for a hotel in reach of Boston as we wanted to travel into the city on our holiday. We got to the hotel and really did not want to leave. The town and the Inn are a great combination. The room was well equipped, clean and we had received just the great rooms we had hoped for.The breakfast was sweet and tasty and we ate out on the deck every day, enjoying the lovely view of the harbour.I had a swim in the pool which was good fun.A little criticism was the lack of a lift,The staff were more than helpful.I wanted to stay for a few more days and would definitely go back

We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights. The personnel were friendly but our room had a lot to be desired. It definitely does not deserve a 4 or 5 tar rating. We were told we would have a "water view". This was somewhat misleading since we were on what I would consider the bottom floor. Although we could "see" the water, I wouldn't say it was a great view. Outside of our window there was a large bush that block much of the view. The bush needed to be trimmed, if not completely removed to allow for a "view" of the water. The room had a musty smell. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall under one of the windows. There was a refrigerator in the room but the door did not open freely and only opened 1/4 of the way. Hallways were hot. The air-conditioner was loud and "blowing" very cold air when on. In the middle of the night it completely stopped working! Needless to say, we woke to a very muggy room at 3 o'clock in the morning! I informed the desk person when we were checking out and she responded, "Oh I'll have someone check it." All of the pillows were high, lumpy foam. if you have any problem with sleeping on this kind of pillow, I suggest you bring your own if you can! We spent $225.00/ night which was actually a reduced price since we had group rates. The room was worth $125.00 per night, tops! The reason we were there was that we were attending a wedding. The wedding guests filled the hotel. On our last morning, we went to breakfast in town but many were delayed at the restaurant because their food at the restaurant was not served in a timely manner. When we returned we told the desk attendant that some of the people might be delayed in checking out due to this unforeseen occurrence. Rather than a gracious response (after all, we brought the Inn literally thousands of dollars in business over the weekend) we were given a frown, a "hmmm" and an unhappy glance at the clock- definitely not the response we were looking for!

Room Tip: If you are planning to stay here, make sure you request a room on the second floor or higher if you...

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. I am glad you found our staff friendly, they are the best staff! The lovely lady you spoke to on Sunday has just started with us and she is so upset that you thought she was ambivalent, she was worried about how she was going to handle getting the rooms clean for our incoming guests, but said that she was understanding that these things happen. The wedding group your were with had booked a little over half The Inn and by all accounts during the stay and at checkout, had a wonderful time in our pool, at The Dogwatch after the rehearsal and enjoying our beautiful downtown. I did check on the AC and the refrigerator and found both to be in good working order. I also thank you for your suggestion to remove a tree, however, I did notice the view from your room which includes the entire inner harbor all the way out to the lighthouse, I think it is a beautiful view and wish I could supply a picture so that others reading this could see the simply priceless view. Our Inn was built in 1969 into the side of a hill so the first floor on one side is at parking lot level, and the first floor on the other side (the side you were on) is a few steps down but none the less is a full floor above ground level as our bar, The Dogwatch is located on the first floor. We also don't have the ability to get central air so our hallways are cooled by the sea breeze. The weekend you were our guest it was hot and muggy so the hallways were a little warmer than usual, but certainly cooler than outside. We try to accommodate all sleeping needs and that is why we have two different style pillows in every room. There is the firmer pillow, cluster filled fibers, to simulate a firm down pillow and the softer premium down alternative pillow that many have said they thought it was so soft and luxurious that it must be down filled and worried about their allergies. Many of our guests have purchased these pillows on their way out and have commented on the best sleep they have had in a long time.

Recently had the pleasure of spending a week here, and was not disappointed. Superb customer service and friendly helpful staff. It is all of a 1 minute walk to restaurants and shops, and also to fishing and whale watching charters. Every room has a habor view, which is nice. While this is a somewhat "older" property, it is well-cared for and very comfotable. We will certainly stay here again!

The room we stayed in had fantastic harbor views. Everybody and everything was just perfect. Parking was great, Check in was so fast and easy, the room was so nice with a huge king size bed that was just so comfortable. In the morning, there is a delicious continental breakfast and they had some really special pastries! After two nights, check out was also so easy. No problems with our stay at the Inn. I would recommend the Inn to everyone!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 30, which was at the end of the hall - very private and quiet. Also a beautiful v...

I had the opportunity to stay here for a family week-end when we were all attending a wedding in Scituate. The location is wonderful with a beautiful view of the harbor. Inn staff were friendly and helpful and they have a wonderful pub on the bottom floor with a walk-out to a semi-private terrace. This is a local favorite and draws the after-work crowd. There are also plenty of local restaurants within walking distance. i would certainly return to this inn - although I would request a room on the main floor due to my mobility restrictions.

Unfortunately, the inn does not have elevators, so anyone with walking issues...or would have difficulty carrying your luggage up 3 flights of stairs (yes - they have 3 levels of guest rooms accessible by stairs only), you should request a main floor room.

Everything else was just lovely - they also provide a continental breakfast each morning and you have access to a nice outside terrace to enjoy your coffee, fruit or muffins on.

Oh - and unfortunately, cell service is minimal to none...so don't rely on your cell phone to keep in touch with friends/family. Luckily, the inn provides in-room phones.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for the main floor if you have any mobility restrictions.

Checked in on a Sunday with beach plans for the next two days, but unfortunately rain wind and temp drop to 50s ruined those plans. Thankfully this great little friendly hotel, with its wonderfully clean heated indoor pool and spacious rooms helped save the trip.

Comfortable in all ways, our stay was great - continental breakfast was a little weaker that i expected but nonetheless we had a great experience, will definitely go back.

The town itself was wonderful as well, everyone was friendly, we had a great time there.

The Inn at Scituate Harbor is everything you would imagine an inn to be in a New England harbor town: It is quaint, yet well-appointed. The rooms are tastefully decorated with fantastic wall-mounted television sets. The beds are superbly comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The indoor pool is a fantastic place to relax after walking around downtown and perhaps dining in one of the local restaurants. (I should note, their restaurant was not open on the night I stayed there or I would have dined there.) The continental breakfast offered fresh muffins, danish pastries and plenty of fresh fruit. As far as I'm concerned, the Inn provides a perfect escape. I'll certainly be going back!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with views of the Harbor out each window.
