We happened upon Doug & Heather's establishment by chance late Sunday afternoon in October. Fortunately Heather had a room available and made us feel most welcome. Following a peaceful nights sleep we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and decided to stay a further night because everything was so good. This enabled us to explore Cape Cod at leisure with some useful advice from Doug. Overall an experience which enhanced our wonderful trip to the USA.

Doug and Heather run a very charming inn at the base of Cape Cod. They are conveniently located in an area with much to see, and made us feel very welcome. We came to enjoy time with friends, and little idea of what to do other than look at whales and Plymouth Rock. The weather precluded the whales, but we saw Provincetown any way and Plymouth, too. With a bit of guidance from Doug, and lots of materials on local sightseeing we filled our brief couple days quite nicely. Between Heather's breakfast concoctions and excellent dining nearby, we certainly ate well. Should we ever go back to the Cape, the Cranberry Manor would get first consideration for a place to stay.

The property and room were nice, and Doug was very relaxed and entertaining. Heather was quite different -- 'tightly wound' and even scolding. A passing thing..? We've never encountered that before in B&Bs, which we always favor for their warmth and hospitality.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our bed and breakfast. I am certainly disappointed that your stay was not all that it could have been.
You may be interested to know, as an innkeeper, one of my many responsibilities is to keep my guest safe and secure while in my home. My ability to protect my guests can be hindered when the access door is repeatedly left unlocked. As a result, this extremely rare occurrence may put my guests in a potentially harmful situation which I will avoid at all cost.
I sincerely hope you were able to enjoy other aspects of your trip to Cape Cod.

Dave and I stayed here for one night - we found it very inviting and extremely clean and homey. The hosts, Heather and Doug were wonderful people, warm and inviting. The food is excellent (serving a full breakfast) and very hearty and gourmet style! Dining on the back deck overlooking a beautiful yard filled with plants and flowers was wonderful.

I had one negative: the bed was way to hard and I did not sleep well. My tip would be to buy a 'feather bed topper' for the mattress and it would add tons of comfort and homey touch at a minimal cost to the Inn owners and this would make all the difference in the world!

Thanks to Heather and Doug for a great experience!

Room Tip: rooms not in the front of the house would be quieter, our room had a bit of road traffic noise.

Cranberry Manor is wonderful.. Serenity. It's like a little home away from home. Clean, cozy and comfy with a warm and friendly atmosphere is how I would describe it. A fabulous gourmet breakfast is served in a beautiful garden out on the deck every morning at 8:30 am. I am going back next week and I can't wait for my Cape Cod getaway. It's located away from all the hustle and bustle .. Minutes to the town of historic Sandwich and an easy shot to both 6 and 6A. The nicest part is that the village of Sandwich is right over the bridge so no need to fight the mid cape traffic to get there.
The guest rooms are impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, roomy and comfy all with private baths. What I like about it is there are only 4 guest rooms so it always seems peaceful and quiet. Simply put.. I will never stay anywhere else on the Cape.

We stayed at Cranberry Manor for three nights in the Daffodil Room, a very comfy king size bed and a private bath with a shower. All the rooms are on the second floor. The main floor access to guests include the parlor or entry room, the dining room and the outside grounds which includes a deck and a screened gazebo. The yard has several bird feeders and Doug can fill you in on all the species that visit the yard.
The dining room has a small fridge for guests to use. The breakfast each day was different and Heather does an unbelievable job with presentation and taste, each breakfast was fantastic!
You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Location makes it easy to get around Sandwich and is very close to Heritage Gardens and the State Park.
