Love the location, love the staff, love lunch, had one good diner, but had the worst diner I have ever had last Saturday.
Chowder had the consistency of wallpaper paste. It was anyone's guess how long it had been heating and how much flower they added to it. The scallops had the consistency of marshmallows and as gad as I tried I could find ZERO flavor. The garlic whipped spuds were like sawdust but I think sawdust would have been better and the string beans were were as crunchy as pretzels.
It was only 8pm and they were out of prime rib and out of tuna. The table next to us has six people, the waitress came to take their order and announced that they were out of prime rib, 4 out of 6 picked up their menses to pick something else.
Guys don't blow it, you have the location, the staff, people like me who need a local nice place to go.
You don't have to be be everything to everyone in the winter, trim it down, offer a few great items, change it up every weekend in the winter then go back to the full menue when the summer returns. Those of us here all winter understand the problems of staying open and will work with you.
