To get this fantastic experience you must park at the farthest point and walk the boardwalk, there is a closer car park but you will miss the fun of the Boardwalk, great views of the water and grasses taking you to the beach. Excellent facility for all to enjoy and it's free.

While visiting Sandwich it was suggested that we go to the famous city boardwalk. We found it very interesting with lots to explore and see while walking to the beach.

So glad we stopped here! Originally built in the late 1800s! A safe nesting place for endangered plovers, don't bring Rover during the nesting season & stay in the boardwalk. It was an unexpected surprise ending up on the beach! Wheelchair accessible, bathrooms on both sides of boardwalk (handicapped potty too), good amount of parking that must be full during the summer. Definitely swing by!

Beautiful ocean view. Well worth the walk. We found several nice seashells. We can't wait to go back!

We stumbled upon this fun little boardwalk over the marshes on a gloomy morning. The history behind it is interesting and it was fun and a touch scary to walk across. Most of the walk has no railings and it feels high up and narrow, especially when people and dogs are passing you from the other direction. It was a windy, cold, gloomy October day and we had NO interest in falling off into the marsh! I am not sure this needs a special trip instead of enjoying other sites in Sandwich, but if you have 30 minutes free, it is worth a visit.

Take time to walk this renovated feature with many boards bearing names of presumed donors. The beach at the end looks very acceptable on a warm sunny day. Not suitable for anyone unsteady on their legs as most of the walk is elevated and not protected at the sides.

Walking from our B&B on Jarves Street, we peacefully negotiated the streets that took us to the Boardwalk. There is a car park, so don't worry if you don't fancy the initial walk. The Boardwalk crosses marshland and takes you directly to the beach. The planks are engraved with those people that helped reconstruct it and those that donated towards the cost. Town Neck beach is a good place to spend a few hours.

This is a pretty spot and a nice walk out over the boardwalk to the beach. We were there in the morning on a weekday and it was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend for locals or visitors.

A great way to get to the beach, some great views too. Interesting reading the inscribed boards too.
