Here is a tip... If you spent the day out and about, such as bike riding, or shopping, swing by the beach in the late afternoon evening for a relaxing stroll along the beach or just to sit and watch the sunset. There is no charge to enter the park after 3:30PM.

It is a great beach for a nice long walk. There are parking spaces available and then you go down the stairs and have reached freedom!. The beach is big, long, wild and perfect for a romantic walk. There were people with dogs, families with children and even some kids playing with a small kite. I would have like to stay there the whole day but we had to keep driving and visiting other places in Cape Cod. A great start of our day, 100% worth the visit.

We had our first visit to Sandy Neck last summer - staying with our daughter's family who had rented the magnificent "Seawana" cottage. I'm a local history nut and absolutely overdosed on the wealth of history, lore and trivia which abounds this place. This was a wonderful experience for us all (especially grandchildren) to live "off the grid." "Seawana" has pumped fresh water, gas stove and fridge. Toilets? Your choice - inside chemical or outhouse. The shellfish here, mainly because of the deserted, remote location, are abundant. You will never go hungry with all the variety of clam dishes possible. A daily trip out to the extreme neck at low tide is an experience not to be missed. After a day swimming and picnicking on the vast deserted beach, you need to keep your wits about you to monitor the incoming tide and sail back to the cottage before you run out of beach. Next up - the dunes which are impressive in size and shape. The kids never got tired of charging up to the top of one of them and then going into a free fall roll down to the base. We befriended the private owners of the now-decommissioned lighthouse and were treated to an invitation to climb the inside tower up to the light. Spectacular view. We will definitely be returning this summer looking for more magical experiences.

This is a lovely beach with beautiful sands but from mid May onwards the parking goes up to $20. We got in for free because we were pre season. The car park is next to the beach.

No matter what time of the year one goes to Sandy Neck Beach, you would not be disappointed. The rolling dunes that hide one group from another and are probably some of the most photographed in the world. Bring your blanket or get permission for a bonfire, this will definitely be in your memories, listed under FAVORITES. On a summer night bring your blanket and look up at the stars, during the day wade into the pools of tidal waters to see the clear waters of Cape Cod Bay. One of my favorite beaches in the world !
