“Not sandy!”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

I am not a beach snob, having grown up in a town with only rocky beaches which were perfectly fine, thank you very much. But, when the beach is called "Sandy Neck" and it's on the Cape for goodness sake, you expect sand. Right? Wrong. Not very sandy at all.

If you are in the Sandwich area, drive 15 minutes to Falmouth and go to Old SIlver Beach. Much nicer.

“Magnificent Beach”
Reviewed August 23, 2011

Go at low tide and you can walk for miles at the water's edge in bare feet. Then go see the sunset to the west and the full moon rise in the east. What a magnificent sight. Look left at the sun setting into the ocean and look right at the full moon rising from the ocean. (Only happens at certain times in the year, of course.) But well worth the experience. Truly one of those experiences that you will never forget. It is an eclectic beach. It has everything.....
Sand dunes, rocks galore, sandy sections, rocky sections, off road trails......a true adventure.

“Nice beach, but VERY rocky”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

Very nice beach, not too busy, clean bathroom/changing room, food available. Make sure to wear beach shoes or flip flops as the beach is VERY rocky and kills your feet. We found lots of really cool rocks to add to our collection. $15 to park for the day and in a nice town with cute shops to visit on your way home from the beach.

“Should be called worst beach on the cape for kids”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

Having never been to the cape before with our three young kids we picked up a local travel book titled "Kids on the Cape". In there it actually recommended Sandy Neck beach on the bay side. It was absolutely horrible and nearly impossible to walk three little girls over all the rocks. It was a bit dangerous to be honest. Would never recommend this beach to anyone who actually wants to walk anywhere near the water. Sorry we wasted $20.

“Off road area: Get there early to enjoy this beautiful beach”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

Get your Off Road sticker and enjoy driving out and "camping" on the beach. The beach is beautiful and in low tide you can put your chairs further out beyond the rocky area. Yes there are plenty of rocks(wear water shoes or flip flops) and they come in all kinds of colors (kids love collecting them). But this is a lovely place to spend an entire day, setting a fire and making smore's. Relax and De stress!
