“Great place on a nice day”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

The flowers were everywhere, in bloom, and it was handicapped accessible for most of the gardens. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Nice rest from traffic on Cape Cod”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

We usually don't make it to the Cape during the good weather, but had to go to a conference, and this was on our way. It does things on a small scale, but does them well, so it doesn't exhaust your day, and there is enough variety so there will be something for everyone. The landscaping and gardens are, of course, lovely. There is a small gallery of art and folk art including weather vanes and figural sculptures, plus a working carousel. The round barn copied from the Shaker barn holds a collection of antique autos. The current exhibit was of "idea" cars, mostly from the 50's .

“Beautiful gardens, and cool cars”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

This is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever been to - helped by the rhododendrons being in bloom, but then at other times of year you will see Hydrangeas and other plants. And to add to that, they also have a (small) car museum showing historic cars, which they replace with new collections fairly frequently (not sure exactly how frequently).

A great way to spend a couple of hours, or half a day, or perhaps longer if it's a beautful day and you want to sit out on the lawn with a picnic.

I highly recommend taking half an hour to have a stroll around Sandwich village after you've visited - it is absolutely gorgeous around the lake, and the village is as beautiful as the gardens.

“One of my favorite places in Cape Cod”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

This was a serendipitous find for us, as we didn't make plans to visit Sandwich. It was a very pleasant surprise. Beautifully kept, spacious gardens. Beautiful carousel horses as well. We took peaceful walks in the gardens. The Cafe was very crowded at lunch time. There were limited seats available, although there were picnic tables/benches nearby. We were fortunate it didn't rain while we were having lunch despite the thick clouds looming overhead. We really enjoyed visiting this attraction after our disappointing visit of the nearby Hyannis.
