The glass museum has a good film show and rooms that tell a story - creative and informative. Not that large and not that expensive to go in. Interesting location in the centre of Sandwich. Good shop to.
As I once blew glass, I was more interested in the history of the press moulded pieces and he colours! but the demonstrations are really good so try and tie into seeing one of them.

I've been to the Sandwich Glass Museum 3 times. The exhibits and interesting but I love the glass blowing demonstrations. They take you through from beginning to end. Very fun for older kids and adults.

THere is so much we don't know about everyday objects, like glass! This little gem of a museum is steeped in local history and houses beautiful specemins of glass, even if you aren't a fan of ornate glass, just learning about it is enough. The young man who was the glass apprentice and gave the demonstration on how to blow glass was both engaging and humorous. Even our teenage sons were enaged and came away with new knowledge

We always plan a "field trip" during our annual September Cape Cod visit. Our destination: The Sandwich Glass Museum. Sandwich is a delightful New England town. The museum was very easy to locate right on the main drag, Main Street, directly opposite the Old Town Hall. Admission is very reasonable at $4. We chose to go first to the glass blowing demonstration. It was very interesting but would have been enhanced with the use of a microphone, as it's located very near the noisy front entrance. Next, we seated ourselves in the Theater which presented an interesting insight to life in the 1600's thru early 1800's. The four of us spent the rest of our time wandering and admiring the beautiful, clever artforms made of glass throughout the museum.
