It's been years since I last stopped into the Winner's Circle, and I happy to report that it's still the same good value that it's always been. This is a sports bar, pure and simple. If you're looking for gourmet food or ambience then cross the Merrimack River and take a look around Newburyport. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a turkey club, to watch a little bit of the Olympics on several of their plentiful tv screens and even shot a couple games of pool before heading down to the beach. No, this is not a yuppy sports bar from Boston. It's just the good old Winner's Circle.

I think one of the prior reviewers made a mistake as this place is definitely not a time share nor related to Marriott.

This place is a Sports Bar. The bar itself has cheap beer and most likely cheap drinks. A microbrew is about $4 for 12 oz (not real cheap), but a bottle of domestic is $2.75, and I seen Rolling Rock specials for $2. So, if you like domestic beer and you like it cheap, then this is a good place for you.

The food comes from a counter where you go up and order. Then they'll call your number for you to pick it up. The menu was decent sized with typical bar food: hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, appetizers, etc, and it was all quite cheap for the area.

There are no servers - you are your own server, and there are plenty of tables and booths.

Tons of televisions with various sports on them. This place also has Keno going on and plenty of different scratch off lottery games as well.

There are lots of video games as well as darts and a sizable room with pool tables and jukebox.

I've never been to a place like this before. I can see where someone would call it dumpy, but I didn't think overly so. Everyone seemed okay to me, not overly friendly, but not grumpy either.

It's a weird mixture between sports bar, cheap/dive bar, and old small Vegas (with the Keno).

If I were in the area again, looking for a quick cheap bite to eat and maybe a cold beer to wash it down, and either by myself or with the guys then I would go here. However, if I were with family and wanted something decent - then I would go elsewhere.

This is basically the home base for the Winner's Circle Running Club and the place is decorated as such with many running pinnies, pictures and plaques lining the walls in addition to the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics decor. The beer selection and prices are pretty good and the food is good bar food, especially the burgers which are flavorful and juicy. In the lower area a number of pool tables are available and you can even bring your kids who will have a great time in the extensive arcade which features numerous games.
