This was our second attempt at Capri's. My wife and I had dinner there last year before a show and were disappointed. Service was the issue then. But boy, let me tell you about last Friday night.
My wife, my sister and Mother all went to see a show at the Blue Ocean across the street. We wanted somewhere to eat within walking distance and could not get reservation to the Sea Glass, which is a decent place. We ended up getting reservations at Capri for 6PM (with many reservations about going there due to our last experience). We gave it a shot – got there at 6 and we were promptly seated at a booth. As soon as we sat down our arms got stuck to the table! What the ?? So I got the hostess to grab me a et cloth so that I can wipe it down. She brought it over and handed it to me, then realized that she should probably wipe it herself.
Drinks came quickly and the bread and dipping sauce did too. Not too bad of a start. Then the food came!!
Wife – shrimp scampi. Rubbery and nasty.
Sister – Chicken parm – not too bad, hard to screw up. you can get this at any pizza joint in the area.
Mother – child portion of ravioli. (really, she got the child portion- but there was an up charge).
Me – I asked the waitress for the chef’s recommendation for veal. I figured that would be the safe bet as veal can be hit or miss. It was a BIG Miss! Rubbery, fatty, nasty. Sent it back and shared my sister’s chicken parm.
They did take the veal off the check. After spending $140 and being dissatisfied again, I would never go back nor recommend this place.
