“Very rustic and old...needs updating..”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

No cable, no wifi (anywhere), no sewer on site. The elect is only 30 amp and barely that. Power on the margin..barely 100 volts out of a 120 wall socket. Dirty bathrooms and PAY SHOWERS. Only 25 cents per 5 mins but while they took the time to install pay systems in the showers, the money would have been better spent upgrading. the 25cents collected for the showers probably can't even cover the cost of cleaning them. It seems penny-pinching. OLD 30 amp sockets and no reset at the plug. The breakers are in a building and you need to call if you trip them.

While the rates were a little on the lower-end of the scale, not by much considering what you DON'T get.

On the positive side, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice, although that was also a bit dirty considering how few people were in it.

We came to rusnik on a whim as we were making our way through Massachusetts. They were very cool about us having our dogs. (Everywhere else required papers which we didnt think to bring) the showers are pay but it's only a quarter for 5 minutes. The pool is very nice and the campground is super close to salisbury beach and Hampton beach. If you're looking for fancy accommodations this isn't the place, but if you want friendly people a nice pool and a place to plop a tent or camper for your beach trip I think this place is great! The other reviews are super critical of this place, but lets face it...it's a campground not a hotel. I will be back next time we are in the area.

The campground itself is nice, mainly seasonal sites. They have sites in the open on grass or in the woods, both are decent.

If you are self contained, the bathrooms are not an issue. The bathrooms are not so nice, there was rotten wood along the wall by the pay showers. The showers were nasty, spiders in the corners, grungy. There was a dead spider on the counter by the sinks for two days. Don't think the bathrooms are cleaned every day, if they are it is minimal.

The dump stations are difficult at best to get at. The one that was by our campsite, we had to back into. Luckily there were no campers across the road from the dump station, otherwise we would not have been able to dump. The other dump site you have to wind your way around the campground and block the road to dump.

Turning into the campground is tricky, there is a pole and guide wire in the middle of the driveway that there is a garden around. Looks like you are turning into someone's driveway. We ended up going over the curb around the garden, just not enough room for us to turn.

Should we start with the bathrooms, no soap, no paper towel, no toilet paper, disgustingly filty and OLD, never been updated in probably 30 years, MOLD all over the shower curtains on the pay showers, didnt even want to touch anything. One day out of four it smelled like pine sol, other than that every day the same filth on the floor...........they should pay me to stay here, yes the truth in advertising here is that it is in fact about 4 miles to the beach! The playground is HOMEMADE from the same rotting wood as the whole campground, there are plenty of other choices in that area.....PLEASE take my word for it, dont put your family through this, I did it for you!!

We stayed at Rusnik Campground one night on our way from Maine to Pennsylvania. The front desk was run by a group of 20ish kids who acted like we were annoying them when we checked in. The bath houses were in desperate need of updating - missing/torn ceiling tiles, broken tile in the showers, and my favorite, PAY SHOWERS! Charging $.25 for water, really? I'd understand if it was a state park campground but a private one? Come on. The bath houses needed to be cleaned as well, but then again, what bath house doesn't?

The mini golf was in disrepair - broken and covered in pine needles but the pool was the one bright spot - large, clean and very well kept.

Most of the sites are heavily shaded by large pine trees. None of the sites had sewer hook-up. Our site and most of the ones we saw had the electric hook-up at the front of the site (you had to back in and then hope that you had a cord long enough to reach). There were many seasonal sites. The dump station also required that you back in, something I'd never seen before, but it wasn't too tough. The road to get from the front office to our site was a little rough and they warned us to make sure we came back out that same road. We found out later that the other roads were tighter and with lower trees than the one we came in on. The location is about a 5-7 minute drive to Salisbury beach and about 5-7 minutes from I-95. A little maintenance would go a long way at this camground.
