“Great view, tasty food”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 via mobile

I have been coming here for years, and the quality of food has never changed. They have good service, a beautiful view, and a kids menu, to boot. They have gotten some poorer reviews on yelp. Perhaps a diehard foodie would scoff at the cuisine, but I have no complaints.

Seated at a window table, we had a spectacular lunch. Husband had fish and I had a lovely arugula salad. Enjoyed it so much went back for dinner the next evening! Gorgeous views of the harbor and beach.

“Great Sangria!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Service was good, loved the beet side dish, melt in your mouth. My husband and I shared our dinners as we wanted surf and turf so one ordered surf, the other turf. Wait staff very accommodating. Plenty of food and delicious. And the red sangria was terrific!

“Lovely view and setting; good selection of foods”
Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

Ate here last night for dinner with five people who have varied food preferences and everyone got something they really enjoyed! Portobello sandwich and fish tacos were superb! View is great even if you are seated away from the windows. Going on the early side before concert-goers arrive is a good plan on performance nights at Shailin Lui.

“Quiet dining in Rockport”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

This is one of the few restaurants in Rockport that is open for dinner later than 7 PM. Brackett's is only 2 doors down from the Shalin Liu Performance Center, so it tends to attract the theater crowd, especially from 6 to 8. If that's when you're planning to have dinner, consider making reservations.

The main dining room has a great view of the ocean, overlooking Front Beach. The menu has a good variety of local seafood and standard dinner fare. Beer, wine and cocktails are all available - the Lemon Drop Martini and Vodka Creamsickle are both excellent. Service is quick and efficient, and the food was all very good. The patrons tend to be older and dress toward the business casual side - sport coats and slacks for the guys; blouses and pants or designer jeans on many of the ladies. The average age of the patrons when we were there was on the older side - more grandparents than young families. But the atmosphere is very relaxed, not stuffy or pretentious, so casual walk-ins are no problem for them.

Brackett's is well worth the price paid for fresh seafood, good service, a great view and casual atmosphere.
